This is going to be a loaded review, but the bottom line is that there are way better steakhouses on Okinawa, the steaks weren't prepared very well, service comes nowhere close to the price and the food is overpriced for how it was prepared. It honestly felt like a massive tourist trap, catering to Americans and playing an old speak easy steakhouse vibe.
Food: This one is a mixed bag, but the food wasn't prepared well, some of it was simply frozen food and their Ribeyes were tough, almost as if they were a serloin.
We ordered 1x 200g A5 Ribeye and 1x 150g A5 Ribeye. We were brought a 150g serloin and a 200g Ribeye. They were both higher grade, but they were way too tough for me to confidently say that it was an A5 equivalent that I've made emyself or had elsewhere. The steaks came out Luke warm and the top of the steaks were slightly crisp but the bottoms were moist and unappealing.
Fries were obviously cheap Arby's curly fries from a frozen bag and they charged 1,800 yen.
the Okinawa fresh salad was honestly the highlight, but at 2,000yen+ it was a rippoff. Nothing super special about it, but this shouldn't have been the highlight of the meal.
The lemon sour was okay, but not worth over 1,200 yen.
The onion rings were absolute trash. Not even worth explaining further.
Service: As typical for a Japanese Establishment, the waitress was very kind, but that's about it. Every time we ordered something, she just kept handing me the dishes and place them on the table for my wife and friends. It got to the point where I had to have a plate in my lap and shove empty plates and tableware around to make it all fit. I have NEVER had to put a plate that was given to me in my lap because there wasn't enough room on the table, it there wasn't even that much. My main complaint is that if I'm paying this kind of money and this place wants to say they give a premium experience, they absolutely failed. I get better service at cocos curry.
Atmosphere: It was a speakeasy vibe, with mid century American music playing. The atmosphere was actually pretty cool other than the fact that it was a little dark, so they give you a little flashlight which is ok. much like the rest of this review, I wouldn't go out of my way for it.
Ultimately, our party went to this place excited, already well versed in premium dining, and we left embarrassed and regretful that we went to this place. If this place was 2x cheaper, I'd give it a much...
Read moreMy partner took me to Okinawa original steakhouse 473 for a romantic meal in Naha whilst visiting on holidays.
Much to our disappointment the price did not reflect the quality of the food, the restaurant or the experience itself.
One of the most disappointing dining experiences I’ve had.
We were charged five times what would be fair for a steak of this quality, that did not taste like A5 wagyu. The fries were like basic frozen wedges—not what you’d expect at ¥3800.
We ordered a bottle of rose Moët from the wine list for ¥25000 as a final celebration of our holiday. The waitress poured a glass, without showing the label, and then took the bottle away to place it in an ice bucket. She returned leaving a towel over the label in the wine bucket. After one sip we realised it was not Moet and we called her back over . When we called it out that this is an incorrect bottle she first insisted it was Moet, then after going to the kitchen she came back and casually apologised saying they had sold out of Moët,. They then said that we could keep the bottle they served for ¥10,000. We declined as we know this brand is worth about ¥1300 and felt we had been deceived and left the poured glasses at the side of our dining table.
To top it all off, a delivery boy showed up towards the end of our meal to the door with a bottle of Moët to which the waitress asked if we would like this now. Of course, we declined again as they must of known they did not have any Moet in the first place . It all felt like a scam dressed up as fine dining.

Read moreSince starting my business over 10 years ago, I have been eating out much more frequently than cooking at home.
After being born in Korea and immigrating to the Netherlands, I developed a sincere appreciation for the flavors of both European and Asian cuisines. I tend to read reviews before visiting restaurants, and I did the same when I came to Okinawa. Although I frequently enjoy eating steak, I never really wrote reviews before, and now I understand why. I realized that I had never truly experienced a steak that was truly delicious.
At Okinawa Original Steak 473, I chose the basic menu, which was the ribeye, and added the course option with garlic rice.
The salad with blue cheese dressing was decent, and the soup that came with cornbread was incredibly tasty. It seemed to have blue cheese and spices similar to what I often eat in European-style chicken stew. It was definitely surprising.
The steak was cooked to perfection without asking for the desired level of doneness. The rich flavor on the surface and the tender taste with juicy meat inside were outstanding. The asparagus and shrimp were also excellent.
I was so satisfied that I mentioned it was the most delicious steak I've ever had in my life, and the chef even came out to thank me, and the owner was also incredibly kind. I wish if I had known that the Netherlands is called Oranda in Japanese.
If I come back to Okinawa, I will definitely revisit this place, and next time I would like to try the...
