Ootoya — Restaurant in Naha

Edited: downgraded to one star Edited: It has become impossible to eat at Ootoya anywhere in Okinawa. The portions are now so small and the prices higher that I believe we are paying around 50 or 60 per event more than a few month ago. Don’t waste your money until they serve normal size portions again. There are many places near by where you can eat more food for less money. Please see the photos of my last visit at a Ootoya, just laughable how little food I got for ¥1100 !

I see some negative comments, but I went to Ootoya in Naha because I used to go to Ootoya in Hiroshima about 15 years ago and loved it! I have to admit I was excited finding it in Naha and went there but the experience wasn’t as I had hoped! Though there was nothing short of a good service, and the price was reasonable but my last visit in Hiroshima was much better and more like a fine dinning where in Okinawa it was more like a food court...

I see some people leaving poor reviews because of “small” food portions and their outlook towards foreigners. My wife and I ate here twice, ordering different items each time. The portions were quite generous—almost too much. Plus, both servers were very helpful, courteous, and took the time to help us understand things that were not clear on the English menu.
