Ramen Paradise Maruko is a hidden gem in the heart of Naha, Okinawa, near the bustling Makishi Public Market. This petite boutique ramen shop offers a crafted ramen experience that might just earn its place among the best ramen spots in Japan. The menu features two noodle options: thick or thin, catering to different preferences. I opted for the "adante" ramen, which strikes a perfect balance with a broth that is neither too thick nor overly salty. The tonkotsu-based soup is rich yet mellow, showcasing a masterful blend of flavors. The toppings are equally impressive—soft and flavorful chashu (braised pork), perfectly molten tamago (soft-boiled egg), crunchy green onions, and crisp nori—all harmonizing beautifully with the broth. The noodles themselves are noteworthy. Whether you choose thick or thin, they boast an excellent texture and chewiness, complementing the soup impeccably. For added depth, sprinkling sesame seeds midway through your meal enhances the overall flavor profile. The shop's intimate setting features an open kitchen and counter seating, creating a cozy atmosphere where you can watch your ramen being prepared. Despite its small size, the service is warm and welcoming, reflecting the care and passion of the staff. Ramen Paradise Maruko is more than just a meal; it’s an experience that celebrates Okinawa’s unique take on ramen. A must-try for any ramen enthusiast visiting Naha!

Wow! If you're in Okinawa (Naha), this place is a must. Just to put things into context, I travel A LOT, and this is by far THE BEST ramen I've had in my life. Do yourself a favor and order all the options, go for the thick noodles, and get ready to be blown away. Please note that this venue is cash only. Tickets are purchased via a "vending" style machine with english translations provided in a laminated one pager handed to you by the business. There is an ATM in a 7 eleven just a few meters across the street from where this venue is. This business is an easy walk away from several hotels in the area. The seven eleven is on the opposite side of the side walk as you head to the best ramen of your life, withdraw some cash, and please come here. I am on my way again for lunch and will also have dinner here. I can't get enough of this! Really... five stars all around! Thank you for such a great meal. P.S. As others have reported, there is only one option of ramen, so it's pretty simple and straightforward. Enjoy! Update: Apr/2/2024-Just returned from lunch, and I'm going for dinner later :p

Such an incredible spot! The store was run by only a single guy; not only was his service lightning fast, but he prepared our ramen with utmost care. I noticed that he quickly sampled the broth before serving to ensure it was up to standards, which is a sign he really cares about his guest and their experience. :) I ordered a kaedama with my meal, which to my surprise came in the bowl to start with, and I didn't need to ask for it halfway through. To the owner - if you're reading this, please know I am very happy I didn't get even more noodles! šŸ˜… The portion I got was absolutely massive, but I felt like it would be rude if I ordered a kaedama and did not ask for it. Although the ramen was incredble, I don't think I could have ate much more hahaha. If you're looking to get phenomenal ramen at a very reasonable price, make sure to check this place out. The chef is so friendly and welcoming, and the food is top notch, with massive portions!!
