Coming in to Okayama for a short transit before heading to Kurashiki, we found this basement outlet near the station. Nondescript but we were about the only tourists at 2pm. There was a constant stream of locals coming in, n queuing to get in. Limited seating for about 10 pax, you first order your meal via the self- service kiosk. You know it's mostly for locals becos it was only signed in Japanese. A kind gentleman helped us figure out the diff options. Insert your money first then press your choice. Take your ticket and the little lovely lady will direct you to 2 seats at the front corner of the store. Turnover is fast n we waited about 5 min. All counter seating. Your food is served pretty quick. Very efficient kitchen work. Use the garlic press if you like garlic in your food, they serve up freshly peeled garlic at the counter, DIY. If you want to add on other food items, you can order over the counter n pay where you are.

The ramen was hearty and tasty. The staff was pleasant. Love...

Really good ramen, in my opinion it’s better than the popular ramen chains. Wonderful broth flavor - the default firmness (slightly firm) is perfect as the noodles are on the thin side. Chashu is good. Very good price. Overall well above average even in Japan

Worth a trip if you’re ever around okayama station. You can get there directly from the station’s underground channels - it’s on a food gallery just straight ahead from the gacha shop, through some doors

Unfortunately on my second trips onwards the ordering machine was not available…....

Close to Okayama station, located inside the ground level of a building (signs are not viewable from the street). The ramen was delicious with reasonable prices. I also thought the fried rice was better than our previous experience at ShinShin Ramen in Fukuoka (recommended). It is a small restaurant, counter style seating, friendly and welcoming staff, English menu available. We arrived at around 4pm and found several people eating at this off time, no wait for seats. Location is a bit difficult, the building located next to a big dept store and you just need to go down one level using staircase and voila it’s there on your right. Price is very reasonable, I finished it immediately because the broth was perfect. I would recommend this place over any other hakata ramen places. No need for English menu, just point and choose the best for your tongue.

Location is a bit difficult, the building located next to a big dept store and you just need to go down one level using staircase and voila it’s there on your right. Price is very reasonable, I finished it immediately because the broth was perfect. I would recommend this place over any other hakata ramen places. No need for English menu, just point and choose the best for your tongue.
