Zukeyama — Restaurant in Onna

After the horrible experience I had @ 沖縄料理 KIZUNA, I have to look for proper food and it's getting late. Got into Zukeyama ( don't forget to take off your shoes! 😊) and order the deluxe sushi set. Not bad to be honest! All the fish sushi is good as they get them from the local port ( I believe they use red vinegar for the sushi rice). My ika was buttery but there was a tendon and it was chewy. I think they are focused on Okinawa cuisine. But to be honest, for ¥2500, same price, would you choose the bullshit pork chop at KIZUNA, or...

The fish was so fresh and so tasty, it almost brought tears to my eyes, and not because of the wasabi. The Sushi chef is a real artist, extremely skilled with the knife, and able to select a wide variety of freshly caught fish. The rest of the staff is welcoming and attentive, always keen to explain the menu and understand your food preferences. Everything I tried on the menu was prepared with great care and expertise, but I'd especially recommend the Sashimi, Sushi, and octopus Karaage. Good selection of Sochu highballs...

I enjoyed it. We dined here recently on Saturday night. 27/07/24. At first when we walked in we sort of got that no way stare from boss lady who by the way turned out to be so polite. They made a effort to squeeze us in. Food was fresh and the Orion beer super cold which I love.
