This place is darling. My daughter and I ate there this morning. (2024-03-03) Like other reviews said, it’s not the easiest place to find but trust the Google map and go down the narrow alley and you’ll find it. FYI, from the water we had to walk down a tunnel under the railroad. Totally home cooked meals which is delicious. Miki-san emits total positive energy and you’ll love her. Place is small with 8 places to sit with tables and two more seats with no table. We wanted to return tomorrow but unfortunately she’s closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. I've regrettably was only able to visit this place once but this was my favorite restaurant in Onomichi. Upon entering, I fell in love with the decor, the vibe, and the authenticity of the restaurant. It was unlike anything I've been to in Japan. The owner was sweet and genuine. The food was warm and flavorful and importantly, I felt like it gave me an idea of what a nice Japanese home cooked meal tasted like.

I was only in Onomichi for two days and I liked this place so much I came here for breakfast both days. Can't say enough good things about it. If the fried tofu is on the menu, order it, I think it might have been the best I've had in my life. It also might be the cutest cafe I've ever been to, with lots of amazing little finds scatter around and a collection of really awesome zines on the shelf to read too.
