I was looking for a dinner spot near the hotel and came across this restaurant with great reviews, so I decided to give it a try. I started by ordering two plates of gyoza, one plate of fried chicken, one plate of beef tongue, and a bowl of rice topped with mentaiko and fish. While I was trying to communicate in Japanese saying 'No negi' (no green onions) because I don’t eat them, my request was ignored. The staff also mentioned that we had to order one drink per person, which I had already planned to do after this. (I’m only with one other person, and with all this food, it’s obvious we won’t be sharing just one drink, right?) After ordering our drinks, my partner started looking at the menu to decide on their drink, but we felt a sense of pressure from the staff, and I had to say, 'She’s still choosing a drink, please wait a moment.' Finally, the rice dish came, and it was served with green onions. I don’t think I’ll be coming back here again. PS. From the picture, I’ve already removed the green onions from the rice topped with mentaiko and fish. You’ll notice the empty spot where the green onions used to be. That spot was originally filled with...

This is an Izakaya with alot of soul. Why do I say this? The staff behind the counter brings with them all the elements that a diner would love about an Izakaya. It's not just the food they whip up that brings a pleasant surprise, but their youth and energy and pleasant personalities that makes this place great. I sincerely hope that the food quality remains consistently high the next time I come, for their in-house lemon sour, fried beef tongue slices, crispy fried pork liver and juicy gyozas remains in my mind till now even when I'm back home. And that itself is a winner in my humble opinion.

Footnote: The cook is very handsome, and looks like he is from the media...
