Great location next to the hotel and attractions. They were very accommodating when I booked for the wrong time slot initially (hence, two stars)... So I reallyyyy wish I liked them more. I had a younger Chinese lady service me. She's very friendly throughout the whole encounter, but there's many things that make this particular location awful.
First, it's in a bustling loud area with thin enough walls to hear the parties and bars around us. The lights are full bright ON the entire time. Music was fine, but since everything is in an open room with sheets to divide you and others, you hear everything. One of the shop workers was even talking on his phone in a normal volume. The ambience just doesn't cut it for relaxation.
Every massage I've ever done comes with an assessment to address your concerns. They did not ask at all so I had to tell my masseuse to focus on my shoulders more. I'm honestly not sure if my lady was licensed to massage. She was not following my muscle tone and her pressure was painful and not relaxing at all. Her technique was waaaay off. I needed the extra pressure so I asked for more pressure and it didn't do anything because the technique just wasn't there. There was no smooth transition on flipping me over. When she was telling me the massage was over, she talked in a normal volume right into my ear. It overall felt like a cheap experience. It was a "get in, get out" experience. You walk in and just can see they chose the cheapest products to fill the room with-- Daiso cups, bins and trays all with stickers on still.
I don't need an explanation or response from them. I just hope they read this and take into consideration what they can do to make it better in the future for others. I know they provided a service and I'm not looking for a refund or any argument. I understand certain things are beyond their control, but technique on a massage service should NOT be one of them. Best of luck...
Read moreHighly recommend. I’m iffy on massages because I’ve had some really bad experiences in Asia. This was by the far the most firm and strong massage I’ve ever had, bordering on painful, BUT I could tell my masseuse knew what she was doing. Every movement was intentional. I have heaps of issues with my neck, shoulder blades and lower back. She showed me a little sign in English asking where I felt “tired” lol. I pointed out those 3 spots. I did a 90 minute full body massage, but she focused on those areas. I also really enjoyed the calf massage. I didn’t make an appointment because it was same day, so I just wandered in to see if I could come in at some point later. They took me straightaway and gave me a female masseuse which I really appreciated. I highly recommend because they know what they are doing. I’m sore today, but I know it’s because the toxins have been released and I don’t have the typical neck pain I usually have. Thank you!! Also this is on the 3rd floor if you...
Read moreWe came from the Australian only stay for a few days. My wife has been complaining her lower back and legs getting tired. We were happy we found Yu raku. This place has a very nice setting everything is pleasant, nicely organised and clean. The staffs and massage therapists are very professional and polite. Although, we don’t speak any Japanese and they speaks a little English, we were able to communicate using our IPhone translation and hand writing. They are very patient and try to accommodate what my wife needs. My wife got a 2 hours deep tissue body massage and stretch. Ms autumn did a very good job! She is very professional, for the entire 2 hours she didn’t even take any breaks. My wife told me she now feels refreshed and the stretching helps to relax her lower body. We already scheduled another appointment to make sure my wife gets one more massage done before we go back to the Australian. thank you for a...
