The shop seems to be very popular, despite the relatively quiet area where is located. This is most likely due to the extensive promotion it has recieved on several channels & networks (tv, internet, socials, etc.) in the past few months, and to the fact that it's owned by a young pretty woman. There's often a line outside, and depending on the time&day you may have to wait over 10-15 mins before being able to sit inside.
Their ramen is honesty pretty good (I like particularly the Shio, number "zero" on the menu). So are the other few side dishes on the menu. Options (for ramen, other food and drinks) are a little limited, tho. Prices seems a little high. Even more if we take into account that their three basic ramen bowls (almost 900円 each) are not that big and rich in ingredients/toppings. Generally, is recommended to add some extra toppings and choose the larger noodle portion, but this brings the final cost of your ramen up to 1,200~1,500. Counting one or two side dishes (gyoza, wonton, karaage, or their popular stir-fried rice&egg) and one drink or two, the final bill goes up to over 2,000, easily around 2,500 or more.
The store (6 counter seats facing the kitchen, and two tables of 4 ) is cool, clean and cozy. Staff is nice, quick and...
Read moreFOOD: I ordered the gyoza (ok), fried chicken dumplings (salty/delicious and so creative), karaage (4 very large and juicy pieces), and egg fried rice (delicious). I shared all of this with my mother, and it was enough to fill us both. We also ordered the Black Wagyu Ramen & Rice set, but I canceled the order before they started making it because it was too much delicious food already. We were full.
SERVICE: It was 7pm on a Monday so there weren't many seats for 2. One Japanese gentleman with braids kindly told us to wait on the bench outside, and brought us a menu & water. We only waited about 3min. Another gentleman at the bar area took our order, and was extremely patient answering our questions in spite of the language barrier.
ATMOSPHERE: Very welcoming bright vibe. A lot of solo locals. Good upbeat...
Read moreAfter a long flight, I walked around and found myself at Ramen Chonmage. I started with cool beer & fresh juicy fried chicken. My eyes linger on the ramen bowl, watching the steam rise like a soft curtain between me and the world. The air is thick with the aroma—rich, comforting, impossible to resist. The hearty broth, tender slices of pork resting gently on the noodles, a quiet promise a whole world of its own. Around me, the hum of conversation, the clatter of bowls, and the warmth of the shop fold into the moment. A tender face becomes timeless with a smile. My simple dining experience meal is a memory in the making, one I know I’ll carry long after I’ve left this place. Everything in life happens for a reason. Trust the journey. Oishii desu....
