This sushi restaurant is truly something special. Located along a bustling shopping and food street, it doesn’t look like a high-end dining spot at first glance—beer crates sit off to the side, and the menu is posted outside so you can choose your order in advance. This system helps keep things efficient, especially since there’s usually a long line to get in.
When you order, you’re given a cute animal tag as a placeholder (we got the neko!). And then, once the wooden entrance door opens, everything changes.
Inside, the place is full of energy, with both counter seats and tables. The chefs work right in front of you, preparing a wide variety of sushi with skill and care. We tried several kinds and especially recommend the toro nigiri (fatty tuna), uni (sea urchin), and classic maguro—all exceptional in taste and freshness. The cuts of fish were remarkably generous—thick, smooth, and delicately placed on the rice, almost like refined fillets rather than simple slices. Each piece melted in the mouth.
Prices are quite reasonable, ranging from 300 to 500 yen per pair of nigiri (plus 10% tax). We tried many and left fully satisfied, spending about 8,500 yen for two people (roughly 4,250 yen each), Sake included!
The staff aren’t particularly chatty, but they’re clearly focused on delivering an excellent food experience for every guest.
Absolutely worth a visit—a lively atmosphere and top-quality sushi at...
Read moreThis was the best Sushi I have ever had in my life! I found out about this place from a YouTube video that I had stumbled across whilst planning my Osaka trip. After watching that video I looked up reviews and immediately put this on my to do list in Osaka.
The restaurant was a little tricky to find as it's nestled in an alleyway of this fairly large shopping market. Use Google maps to help locate this as it's only a few mins walk from the local station. The shop sign is in Japanese so Google image search this restaurant to make sure you have the correct one. The shop is quite small and cosy inside. When I arrived there on a Saturday night at around 6pm there was already a huge line. My girlfriend and I waited in line for over an hour in the freezing cold, however it was worth the wait.
Whilst approaching the front of the line, you are given the menu which is available in English. You can prepare select what you would like so your meal is ready for you inside. We were starving so we ordered plenty. The quality and freshness of this sushi is second to none. The fatty tuna literally melts in your mouth. THIS IS A MUST TRY! Price was extremely reasonable for the quality of the sushi you get. I ordered 18-20 serves of nigiri, a sashimi platter and a bowl of Miso soup. It came up to around $6000 Yen - around $60-65 AUD. extremely reasonable compared to a nice sushi...
Read moreI had the chance to visit this highly anticipated sushi restaurant, but I made the mistake of arriving only 30 minutes earlier than their official opening hour on a weekend. To my surprise, there was already a long line of eager diners, and I ended up waiting for about an hour before getting a seat.
However, one clever thing about this place is that when you're close to the entrance, you can already write down the sushi items you want and pass the list to the server. This way, by the time you're seated, your sushi is already being prepared, saving you even more time.
I must admit, I forgot to mention that I preferred no wasabi inside my sushi, and unfortunately, every piece I received had it. It was a bit disappointing, but I understand that it could have been a miscommunication on my part. Despite this hiccup, the overall value and freshness of the sushi were excellent.
If you're considering visiting this restaurant, I would highly recommend arriving at least 45 minutes earlier than the official opening time, especially on busy weekends, to avoid a long wait and secure a spot in the first seating. It's definitely worth the effort, as the quality and value of the sushi make it a worthwhile dining experience. Just remember to communicate any specific preferences clearly to ensure your sushi is prepared to...
