Delicious Tantanmen chain found across the city! If I'm ever here in Tenmabashi or Kyobashi I try to eat here! While waiting in line outside I was asked for my order and if I wanted "extra noodles"/"Oomori" for free!! As soon as I sat down inside my ramen was ready! I love Sasara because of its spoon with holes so I can eat all of the toppings without having to drink all of the unhealthy (but delicious) soup. The "normal" spice level is good, but I like level 1 the best. I tried level 2 one time and it was just a little too much for me. I believe there are better tantanmen restaurants out there, but for the price, and the fact that this is a chain ramen shop; it's incredible!! Thank you Sasara for always making such tasty tantanmen!
To the foreigner who left a one star review:
I am a foreigner too, and the custom in Japan generally is to wait at the door and announce to someone who works there how big your party is; then they show you to your seat. If they don't have a ticket machine where you buy a ticket then sit down and give it to the chef (which they don't at Sasara) walking straight in, even if the place is empty, is a little rude. Just my opinion. I had a good experience here. I was offered extra noodles for free and an apron for my suit (and I didn't even ask for it) The staff were quick, but helped...

Our visit to Temmabashi Sasara was incredibly disappointing.
We arrived at around 11:30 am, and despite half of the seats at the counter being empty and only a few customers present, we were met with shocking rudeness. As soon as we opened the door, a staff member rushed over, blocking our entry and loudly shouting "NO" at us. The hostility was immediate and unmistakable. It became clear that foreigners are not welcome at this establishment. We are very familiar with the process of ordering and eating at ramen restaurants, so this was not a matter of misunderstanding.
The refusal of service appeared to be based purely on our non-Japanese appearance, which is unacceptable. If you are not Japanese, avoid this place. There are many other ramen restaurants in the area that offer a much more welcoming and...
Read moreCame back here after 6 years. It had been so long ago, that I only remembered that I used to really like this place. But after having it again after all these years I realized this is most likely my favorite Tan Tan Men place in all of Japan! The soup is thick, sesame and meats are abundant, and even the chasu rice on the side is something to write home about.
My only regret this time was that I forgot to take a photo before starting to eat, so this photo will have to do instead. It...
