My recent stay at Hotel Keihan Tenmabashi Ekimae was nothing short of excellent. From the moment I arrived, I was impressed by the impeccable cleanliness and modern design of the hotel. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, always ready with a smile and eager to assist with any inquiries, even those requiring a translation device at times, they made every effort to communicate effectively. One of the standout features of this hotel is its unbeatable location. Situated directly in front of the Tenmabashi Station for both the subway and Keihan Railway lines, navigating Osaka was incredibly convenient. This also meant easy access to the Keihan City Mall right across the street, offering a variety of shopping and dining options. Being within walking distance of Osaka Castle was a significant bonus for sightseeing. While the room was compact, typical for many Japanese hotels, it was extremely clean, well-designed, and comfortable. The inclusion of a Smart TV allowed for easy streaming, which was a nice touch. I particularly appreciated the thoughtful amenities provided, including a refrigerator, electric kettle, and a modern bathroom with a bidet. The bed was comfortable, ensuring a good night's sleep. The breakfast offered a good variety of options, although it could get a bit crowded after 8 am, so arriving earlier is recommended. The hotel also offers convenient facilities such as free Wi-Fi throughout the property, a 24-hour front desk, luggage storage, and vending machines. For those needing laundry services, they are also available.Overall, Hotel Keihan Tenmabashi Ekimae provides exceptional value for money due to its prime location, cleanliness, modern amenities, and helpful staff. It's an ideal choice for solo travelers, couples, and even families looking for a convenient and comfortable base to explore Osaka. I highly recommend this hotel and would definitely stay here again on...
Read moreHotel Keihan Tenmabashi Ekimae offered a phenomenal experience. Its proximity to Tenmabashi Station, Osaka Castle, and the Osaka Museum of History gives access to a wealth of entertainment and food. The hotel itself had friendly staff that seemed to try to assist in English if ever someone did not seem fluent in Japanese and the self-check-in kiosks at the front also supported four languages: Japanese, English, Korean, and Chinese. The room itself was phenomenal, being one of the most spacious I have seen in Japan. What impressed me most, however, had to be the washroom. It was not only incredibly clean, but also the most spacious I have seen to date in Japan. The room also came with a complementary carton mineral water which I thought was quite nice for quality of life. The television is also well equipped information and entertainment and even lets one share their phone screen onto the television. There is also a convenient panel next to the bed that has various functions from controlling the air conditioning and lighting to notifying the staff whether one wants their room cleaned or not. The breakfast they offer, served buffet-style was comprised of various offerings reflecting Japanese, Chinese, and "Western" culture. While the offerings were satisfactory, I also felt that they may have spread themselves to thin with the variety of the offerings and thus the quality of the individual items suffered from it. In addition, the meal felt like it only partially captured the spirit of each tradition it drew from and ultimately lead to the overall experience being a confused motley of flavours. Overall, while I only stayed for a single day, this was one of the better hotel experiences I have...
Read moreThe front desk staff (Takama/Ms) (高間さん)was just rude. Probably the worst I have ever experienced in a hotel. She requested me to show her my vaccination record. I showed her the Visit Japan’s record (authorized and accepted by the Japanese government as a proof of vaccination record for people entering in Japan), but she just said she does not know what that is and insisted me to show her another proof. I tried explaining to her what the Visit Japan is but she just ignored me and walked away. Luckily, I had stored my vaccination certificate in my phone. It took me a while to find that photo though, she accepted the certificate. After I got my key card, I proceeded to the lift lobby with my two friends who were here to join me for dinner later. As we walked to the lift lobby, the staff Takama suddenly blocked our way and said “Your friends have to stay here.” We were shocked and left speechless as it was totally unexpected. My friends are working in the tourism industry and it is their first time told by hotel staff not to bring guest to the hotel room. After a moment of awkwardness, Takama said “Can your two friends not go up to the hotel building? It is against our policy.” We do not want to make a scene there or ruin our day because of the impolite staff and so my friends just said okay and stayed at the ground floor waiting for me. One of my friends is a close friend with Keihan’s hotel group salesperson and the salesperson confirmed that she was not aware of such policy when she was working in front desk in that hotel, if there is no change in policy, the staff might have...
