Came here for lunch on a weekday after being recommended by a colleague. There are only three options for the soup, soy sauce based, Paitan (chicken broth with pork) based ramen and a soy sauce paitan ramen.
I tried the paitan ramen which was 850 yen but you can get the soy marinated egg version which is 950 yen. Added some extra char siu pork instead and it was so worth it! The broth is rich and pairs well with the spring onions and char siu pork. Didn’t try the side menus but would consider if I wasn’t too full!
You can ask to adjust the hardness of the noodles but will come as ‘hard’ (equivalent of about al dente in pasta) if you don’t specify.
Avoid the 12:00-13:00 timing on weekdays as that’s when the office workers will be eating and there could be a queue but overall the service is quite quick.
Don’t recommend for those who only have a debit/credit card as they have a ticketing type vending machine which only...
Read moreThis is my first time here. It's a 5-minute walk from Tenmabashi Station. This ramen shop is located in a quiet residential area, on the hill called Uemachidaichi. There are only counter seats. I entered the shop and purchased a ticket from the ticket machine on the left. This time I ordered the chicken and pork white soup ramen and the roast pork bowl. First, the roast pork bowl. The roast pork is well-absorbed with flavor and crumbles when you put it in your mouth. I like this type of roast pork. The rice is more moist. Both the roast pork and the rice melt in your mouth. Next, the chicken and pork white soup ramen. I chose thin and firm noodles. The soup is a little thick and similar to the soup at Tenkaippin, but the aftertaste is a little lighter and more refined (this is my personal opinion). It was a taste that I would like to...
Read moreFood was alright. Ramen better than anywhere in the US is a given. But the service was seriously awful. Chef was mean, he told me to “Bring the bowl up when empty” but none of the other Japanese guests did and left it at their spot, like every other ramen place in Japan. Also didn’t say the trademark “Thank you for eating here”~ saying every other Japanese restaurant does, was silent as he stared at me leave, and glared the whole time as I stood up and walked out the store and glared through the window, I stared the whole time back. Saw some other reviews possibly citing racism, honestly I’m inclined to believe them based on the...
