Obon de Gohan Kokunshititen — Restaurant in Saitama

Nestled among the many restaurants of Cocoon City, here you will find a decent meal in a more casual setting. Something that may turn off some people is the "open" concept of the restaurant as many of the "walls" are just partitions that look out into the bustling corridor of the mall. However, this also gives the place quite an unique vibe, as it allows you to take in the liveliness of the mall.

They offer a wide variety of food that all comes beautifully presented. I ordered the Hamburg steak and avocado beef sukiyaki (ハンバーグとアボカドの牛すき焼き). This came with a bowl of rice, miso soup, a salad, potato salad, pickled vegetables and tofu. While it may sound like a mountain load of food, the sides were all just the right amount to not be overwhelming. Everything from the pickled vegetables to the main dish tasted great. The variety of side dishes really helped to round out the flavor profile of the meal. The Hamburg steak, which was cooked in the sukiyaki broth was delightful. You also have the option of a "drink bar", which I opted for. Unlike most places where the drink bar is simply a drink dispenser, here they had all their options in jugs, which only worked to enhance the already unique vibe of the restaurant.

普通に美味しいですが、量はやや少な目。 そしてとにかく接客が残念過ぎるお店。

1回目に行った時は、友人が柚子アレルギーがあるので、頼もうと思った料理に使用しているかを尋ねたものの、お待ち下さいと20分以上待たされても店員は戻って来ず、こちらから声を掛けて呼び、結局違うものを頼んだのですが、事務的にすみませんと一言言われてお終い。 というか、今の時代アレルギーの確認にそんなに時間掛かりますか？平日の昼間だから本社もやってますよね？確認はすぐ取れると思うのですが…不思議です。

2回目に違う友人と一緒に、小学生2人に赤ん坊1人を連れて来訪した時は、14時半で店内が閑散としていたので、ベビーカーがあるので広めの場所に座ってもいいですか？と聞くと『他のお客様のご迷惑になりますので』 え？時間もう14時半ですよ。カフェメインじゃなくて食事メインのこの店が混む時間帯じゃないですよね？すいてるじゃないですか？と言うと、他のお客様のご迷惑になりますので、と事務的に再度言われ狭い隙間のような席に押し込まれました。

えーと、この店って何かの案内で『お子様連れ、ベビーカー歓迎』になってませんでしたったっけ？どう考えても歓迎されてませんよね。

挙句、料理を運んで来た時に、店員がお盆をテーブルに置いてあったグラスにぶつけて水をひっくり返し、テーブルを水浸しにしてしまい、子供にも水がかかってしまいました。 すみませんと謝られたものの、やはり全く感情はこもっているとは感じられない形式的な様子で、感じは良くなかったです。 更にその店員が会計時にレジをしたのですが、何事も無かったかのように会計を済ませ、改めての謝罪の一言もなし。普通はしますよね…。

ちなみに前者は女性、後者は、席の案内したのは女性、グラス倒してレジをしたのが男性の店員でした。 店員がいずれも無愛想、事務的、融通が利かない、非常識な接客態度でとにかく不快。

総じてスタッフ教育は全く出来ていないなと思うお店。ランチタイムは並んでるか並んでまで入ろうなんてとても思えません。 コクーンには良く行きますが、このお店に行くこと...
