English: We are from China. A local friend took us to a restaurant near their home that has been operating for many years. The restaurant’s name translates to "Every Day is a Good Day" in Chinese, and they specially reserved seats for us. First, the location is very convenient—less than a 5-minute walk from the subway station. The restaurant has two floors, and we dined on the ground level. The owner and staff were very warm and attentive, even rearranging tables to create more space for our group. Following our friend’s recommendations, we ordered a salad (with shrimp, avocado, lettuce, etc.) and a daikon radish simmered in broth as starters. The salad was fresh and generously portioned, satisfying all four of us. The radish, served in a large, tender chunk with hot broth, was exceptionally flavorful.
For mains, we had a premium sashimi platter, fried pork cutlet, salt-grilled mackerel, and another sashimi platter. The sashimi was top-quality—thick, fatty, and fresh. The fried pork cutlet was highly recommended: chewy yet tender inside with a crispy exterior, perfect with dipping sauce. The salt-grilled mackerel was a large fish cooked to perfection, devoured by everyone.
The staple dish was classic Japanese ochazuke (tea-soaked rice) with pickled plum, offering a unique tangy flavor—a fun and unexpected way to enjoy rice. By the time the final dish, tuna tartare with scallion and seaweed rice rolls, arrived, we were too full to finish. Apologetically, we asked to pack the leftovers. The staff kindly boxed them, adding ginger slices and squeezing wasabi onto each roll. These made a perfect breakfast the next day at our hotel!
As it’s an izakaya, we all ordered drinks: plum wine with ice paired well with the meal, and orange juice for non-drinkers. Though we don’t speak Japanese, the staff communicated smoothly in English with patient service. The restaurant has restrooms and can likely accommodate wheelchair users on the ground floor.
The meal was excellent, costing around 1,500 yen per person—fantastic value. They reportedly offer seasonal specials, making it highly recommended for travelers visiting Osaka. From Kansai Airport, take the subway to Sakai Station. Enjoying a meal here before exploring Osaka or checking into your hotel is both convenient and...
