The following content is what I wrote on booking.com “They don’t speak English. Front desk held a horrible attitude, lied to me about not having bandages when I knew they had. One who doesn’t speak English is in charge of a job requires of English skill, then he disqualifies himself the job, you can imagine how hard it would be to communicate with, I asked for a favor, a simple one, it could’ve been done within 10 mins at maximum. I don’t know why he took nearly an hour to fix it, probably because he tried to push it away and also because he didn’t speak English. Again because the front desk staff didn’t speak English who relied on a stupid translating app and laughed at the words that had been wrongly recognized by the vocal detector with his colleagues in front of me without any disguise! Their behavior was unprofessional and unethical. He turned a simple task as a mission impossible just because he couldn’t speak English! If you don’t speak Japanese, twice think before you reserve, ‘cuz you’ll trouble yourself when you have to communicate with one particular front desk staff!” ||I realize what I wrote on booking.com was an understatement of their horrible attitude, they basically humiliated me in front of me and the other guests without any disguise! Or maybe I should say the incompetent staff who was supposed to be able to speak English and offered service was flirting with a female co-worker by laughing at me loudly which was disgusting! He did not just whine about it to that particular female but every co-workers he could find! Even the other guests looked at them awkwardly while they made fun of me and laughed it out loudly but they didn’t even realize how rude they were. Speak of that female worker, she came along and did nothing but laughed incessantly! She saw it like some kinda show. When I accidentally hit the bell, they laughed even louder! I’ll tell you a real fun fact that is when one is unaware of one’s incompetence to one’s own job and pretends to be a victim, keeping moaning, groaning, whining makes himself like a nagging sniveler, and you are both exactly the case! I am not sorry for what I wrote despite you “helped” me reluctantly and inefficiency; wasted both of us of an hour. The only thing I feel sorry for is your unconscious incompetence!||The worst experience I ever had in a hotel/hostel! I told the entire thing to my Japanese friends who deeply apologized to me about your ridiculous behavior, they said furiously about what happened to me wasn’t supposed to happen! You just ashamed your country and culture! ||Just so you know, I told you the name of the store at first, if you listen to me, or if you understood English then you would know the second number was a wrong one, you could tell me it was a wrong number and I would leave, insteadly, you pissed off, acted unprofessionally. The English pick-up service phone call you gave me was talking about “please keep your package already, and enter your “turkey” number” I told you I didn’t know what to enter, you were just laughed and acted impatiently, if you understood English you would know the reason why I couldn’t enter it, because I hadn’t even receive my package! Remember? Rearranging the designated address was the one thing I asked you to help! When you didn’t want to help me and asked me of heading to the post, what I tried to tell you was “please help me telling the expeditor to send my package to the post office nearby so I could arrange the rest stuff” I tell you what if my package arrives and you dump it without my authority, that is an embezzlement! A crime! You’ll be sued if you dump it! The way I tried to fix my problem was actually...

Read moreA little tricky finding the hotel despite the directions emailed me not helped by the lack of street signs in Sapporo. ||||But once there for 8 nights, Potmum was excellent, splendid accommodation. Well-appointed dorm room, restroom, hot showers, quiet, comfortable space. Friendly, helpful staff — at the front desk and housekeeping — would stay at Potmum again. Appreciated that my Visa card was billed in yen with no extra surcharge. ||WiFi was generally very good though there were frequent, frustrating signal drops if only for a few seconds, enough to muck up in-progress airline ticket purchases, hotel reservations, etc.||||One area that was a bit confusing for this first-time visitor to Japan was that my hotel bed came with toothbrush, toothpaste, towel, pajamas — all things I normally travel with — but the hotel lounge area with its microwave, electric kettle, frig and sink, came with no utensils, plates, cups, nothing with which to prepare and eat a meal, not even a paper towel. But I guess that’s why we travel, to see how...
