RITARU COFFEE — Restaurant in Sapporo

Nice coffee shop tucked away in a quiet neighborhood. A bit of a wait to be seated but the dining area was really nice and cozy we got settled.

I got the apple pie paired with an iced milk coffee. Also got the house blend and everything was good! The iced milk coffee was a bit surprising because of how smoky the blend was before it was paired with milk. The milk balanced things out but it was a nice surprise. The house blend, despite being a very dark brew was not as bitter as i feared it would be. It wasn’t as acidic as i would have preferred but it was nice, complex and clean tasting. Coffee and food is 5/5 and would definitely go back if i find myself in the area.

Deducting a star because of hire long it would take to actually get the coffee. This is not the kind of place that you world go to in order to get a quick coffee fix before you head to work. Nothing wrong with the service at all. In fact, the staff were very friendly and even paced the delivery of both drinks to ensure that they were both fresh.

There were a couple of items available for purchase. Some individual drop bags, cold brew base, chocolate and even a couple of coffee accessories. I got some freshly roasted beans and there was quite a selection. Most of the beans tended to be dark roasts but I am excited to...

This is one of the best places that I visited - one of that where you can spend comfort hours with a book or your laptop, feeling totally relaxed, enjoying the comfort of the place, nice silent music and, of course, amazing coffee! There is a roaster on the first floor, and the cafe on the second. So the coffee is fresh roasted, and there is nice smell in the air. They sell coffee beans too, and as the coffee blend I ordered (“Maruyama blend”, light, without bitterness and with rich aroma) turned out to be amazing, I bought a pack of this beans as well. Great Specialty Coffee and a lot of space.

Unfortunately, the staff doesn’t speak any English, so I couldn’t get into details about their coffee. I can recommend the Brazilian „Premium“ Single Origin, it was a very delicate roast, very balanced and sweet cup. I would wish for some more acidic coffees, but that hasn’t really reached many cafés in Japan. Also, it was very hot inside on that day, please turn the heaters down a bit! I was sweating while it was 8 degrees outside.
