Having visited a lot of omakase in different countries (including Japan of course), this restaurant is no doubt the worst omakase I have had so far in my life. The only acceptable dish was the uni+seaweed (which is hard to fail) which was served in the right temperature. Other than that all dishes failed me so badly. The course started off with octopus which was chewy without good flavour. And the oyster in the chawanmushi has oyster shell which I bit on as you can see in the photo… chawanmushi was served in a tongue burning hot temperature and for omakases it’s not suppose to happen. The nigiri was badly done. The rice had a strong, acidic and direct taste of vinegar, and the shari will immediately scatter once you hold it with your fingers or chopsticks. I do find the dressings, pairing of ingredients and flavours are very questionable. None of the dish complimented or showcased the goodness of the ingredients… how can you screwed up scallop? An ingredient so commonly found and used in this country 😂 Also, most dishes are served in very questionable temperature especially those with raw fish and shellfish. Temperature that enhances the fishiness of seafood instead of the umami-ness and freshness…
Also, there is NO explanation on the dishes at all. What they do is they put a laminated sheet infront of you to show you the main ingredient of the dish as you can see in the photo. No one was bothered to tell you the sequence of eating and how to enjoy the dish.
The hostesses were good at what they do though.
So ridiculous for the price. Even if it was for free I wouldn’t have gone for it if I knew that’s the...
Read moreI wouldn’t recommend anyone to come to this omakase especially the price is steep for the quality.
Most dishes were bad except the uni….quite a few dishes tasted fishy and some were just tasteless. I also think they overcooked one of the fish dishes and the scallop…it’s horrible experience…I don’t know why others gave good reviews for them 😨😨 I came with very high expectations but the experience was just horrible 😭😭
The chawanmushi was piping hot which is not a good sign. Additionally, when I held my nigiri, 100% of the time the rice will loosen and fall. Not only that, the sushi master acted cold the whole time…he didn’t intend to explain the dishes or how we should eat it at all…
During my trip, I also went to other omakase with similar price but the experience was just divine. I didn’t want to leave a bad review but after having good omakase with similar price I really don’t think this restaurant justifies the price and the Google reviews...
Read moreQuality of the sushi was outstanding, with a creative twist from time to time. One of the best omakase experiences we had. Don’t expect a lot of verbal explanation if you don’t speak Japanese (which is obviously completely normal, only self-entitled idiots would go to a restaurant in a foreign country and expect to get a full explanation in English), but you will be presented with beautiful cards with a drawing and a description of the fish you are eating, hand-drawn by the chef. The rice is quite vinegared, but it pairs wonderfully with the fish. Every bite was wonderful, I was very impressed with the quality of the shellfish in particular, the chef really knows how to choose and prepare those. As always in Japan, be there at least 5 minutes early, don’t wear perfume, and...
