So we were craving steak. Google maps popped up with numerous locations. As you do, quietly read the reviews of each different place to get the feel of where you want those meat sweats to occur!
We decided that the Meat Shop was our location. Up the small lift and into a very classy establishment. Modern with a touch of farm life is how I would explain it.
We were greeted and sat at our table where the staff knew we were english speaking and had a seperate English menu! What a relief.
The menu was full of delicious meat selections. We were here for steak, so naturally were guided towards the Wagu and aged beef. Portion sizes were a generous 200grams for a single, 400grams for a double and so on.
Now price wise for the beef we thought was fair. Around 3000yen got you a 200gram portion of aged meat and 4500 yen for the Wagu. All other meats were priced well below this but it all looked and smelt amazing!
So we ordered. I got a 400 gram aged beef and my friend the 400 gram T bone with a side of French fries.
To our belief we were never asked how we wanted our steaks cooked, but that was ok. We were prepared for rare-medium rare which is how most steaks should be cooked so weren't too fussed. But if you want something other than this I would suggest you tell them.
Our meals were absolutely fantastic! Tender juicy beef with a side of salad and potatoes really hit the mark.
I highly recommend this...

Our high expectations were met tonight at the Meat Shop! The restaurant is on the 5th floor of a building that doesn’t do the restaurant justice. However, the interior of the restaurant is very well appointed.
Our wagyu beef and pork roast were delicious; the pork was wonderfully prepared (not an easy thing). We also really enjoyed the two-person meat appetizer and found the deer pate particularly tasty. The edamame is also highly recommended!
Service was friendly and the overall experience was excellent. The restaurant is a bit expensive, but...
Read moreBe aware of this place. My family went there for dinner. They charged 500 Yen per person as mandatory “Table charge”. This charge wasn’t mentioned anywhere on the menu or at the restaurant entrance. My husband ordered a beer from the menu, only to be told it wasn’t available. The owner recommended his own brewing brand, which was 40% more expensive. And my husband was only given 3 quarters of an 8oz-glass. I ordered a glass of wine for 700 Yen, and only half of the glass was full. The food was mediocre and very overpriced. For the same amount of money, we had much better quality of food and drinks at...
