I rarely leave restaurant reviews, but when I do, it's because the restaurant left a remarkable (poor) impression on me. This restaurant gives guests as many as two papers of strange rules, and there are many more rules that are not written on the paper. Unfortunately, the food quality and service level of this restaurant are only average and hardly amazing. In addition, even if you choose the special all-you-can-eat set menu, guests are required to finish a whole bowl of vegetables and udon noodles (which takes up 90% of your stomach). It can be said that the non-topic package is not cost-effective. In addition, all guests are required to order a drink. Although the price of the drink is not outrageous, it is at least 2-3 times that of nearby convenience stores. Finally, restaurant staff will ask guests to post positive reviews on Google Maps and other platforms to receive free ice cream. This is why this restaurant has such a confusingly high review score. The reason why people choose the all-you-can-eat set menu is because they don’t want to be bound by rules anymore. Unless you like being told to eat like a slave by a dozen rules, I would not recommend this restaurant. In addition, I want to say to the operators, if you don’t have the guts to do all-you-can-eat,...
Read moreFound this after looking for a shabu shabu option close to the central Suskino part of Sapporo. Was looking for a change or pace from soupy curry and delicious ramen choices close by and found this little gem - a bit hidden if you can call it, since it’s nestled in the 8th floor of a mall and in the middle of an “art installation” type of atmosphere (eg open spaces with art work). Atmosphere is “unique” to say the least. Great retro vibe with up to date playlist of R&B.
Takahiro was the manager/owner and also served me during my meal. He was quite attentive and was quite prompt in his service and explaining the entire three course set-up (a small sushi set, all you can eat beef and finally a bowl of udon which looks quite nice (am about to finish it now :-).
Now to the food (my comments):
Overall a great find. Right next to Odori park, off of the subway line. Great experience especially in the...
Read moreCame here for dinner with my sister after seeing all the good reviews and ratings. The food (esp the wagyu) was indeed very delicious and sufficiently filling, and the service was outstanding. The staff were all very friendly and helpful and they were willing to accommodate to my dietary needs and prepare non-seafood starters for me as I do not really eat seafood. They were also very attentive and tried their best to answer all our qns patiently despite some difficulties due to a bit of communication barriers. As for the wagyu beef, I would suggest following the recommendations on the menu where you cook it quickly in the sukiyaki broth and dip it in the raw eggs provided before eating it. The idea of using raw eggs as a dip sounded quite foreign to me initially but I was pleasantly surprised by how delicious it tasted. The corn tea also tasted quite good as the corn fragrance was more pronounced than any other corn tea I’ve ever tried. Overall, it was truly a very pleasant and exceptional dining experience, though a little pricey. Would...
