delicious parfait-
We came here after dinner right before 7pm on Wednesday, and all seats are taken. We waited for maybe 10 minutes to get seated.
The seasonal fruit parfait that night was pumpkin. Since we weren't a fan of pumpkins, we skipped that and ordered the "salted caramel & pistachio" parfait and "mango and chocolate" flight. Out of the 5 ice cream flavors, my ranking is: salt caramel chocolate pistachio mango vanilla. Salt caramel is very similar to a milk candy but not overly sweet. The chocolate is actually a bit bitter and different from the chocolate ice cream on the market. Pistachio is good but it's not very nutty. Mango sorbet tastes the same as haagen dazs mango sorbet. And vanilla is just a safe flavor. His flight contains a layer of chocolate cookie crumbs and random fruits underneath, such as mango, banana, or orange. My parfait has a layer or red berry (raspberry?) yogurt?? And it tastes good with the vanilla soft serve underneath.
It's a good experience overall, but we waited at our seats for 35 minutes for the parfaits, which is a bit ridiculous lol. My husband was also dying since he can't really deal with those traditional seats in Japan (his knees will hurt) and we weren't lucky enough for those...
Read moreYou know one of those food anime shots, when you melt into the void and appears in a land that is made out of pure fantasy? That’s how I felt in tonight’s Shime Parfait experience in this place.
Firstly, the atmosphere is just special. A projection is beamed to the communal poker-style tables. It moves from starlights, sakura blossoms, a lotus pond, and many others. It sets an otherworldly feel, which prepares us for the odyssey we would experience.
We got a few items:
Salted Caramel Pistachio (The number one item in the menu) Wondrous, perfecto. Mellifluous sweetness combined with refreshing boldness. The initial sweet and nutty kick from the salted caramel and pistachio ice creams soon breaks into a blackcurrant cream, which intersperses with a milky cream. A well of bouncy apple jelly on the bottom and a caramelised tuille on the top provide even greater textural delights. It feels like an intergalactic journey of the tastebuds
Seasonal Fruits For those who likes more tart flavours. Lemon and strawberry sorbets topped with oranges and strawberries. It’s sweet and refreshing.
Soft Serve No-fault soft serve that just tastes clean and sweet. A lovely rice cracker provides contrast.
You know, I might just come back...
Read moreI have never wrote a review before and probably never will but I needed to write this down! I understand this is popular but no, it’s a big no! The parfait was decent but I am not sure it is worth waiting for 1hour and half… I waited outside for 1 hour and when I got there they passed me a QR code to order online and told me that I’ll need to wait more until my order comes. Of course they do not offer wifi even though they ask you to connect online to order so not a good option for people without internet! All that with the worst customer service I have encountered in Japan and trust me I have been to a lot of places. They were so rude I was so shocked, I understand it might have been a long day but doesn’t need to be like that. The place itself was cute and the parfait was maybe okay too but the overall experience made it that all that is so pointless. It’s not worth your time nor your money (it’s expensive as well)! I will definitely...
