もんじゃ焼 下町や — Restaurant in Sendai

I don't doubt the quality of the food (to be honest it depends largely on your own cooking skills) or the popularity with locals, but some of the practices were unexpected. There's nothing wrong with a one drink + one item per person system, but when you add on an extra starter and charge for that as well, it really gets a bit too much. Additionally, the restaurant does not separate smoking and non-smoking areas, and there were multiple tables smoking when we went there. Also, it was our first time doing okonomiyaki there, the staff just left the items on our table. We did try following the instruction sheet given to us (I presume we failed because it turned out a bit weird; this is on us) but it would have been a lot better if he would have just checked on us halfway through or corrected us he saw us making any major mistakes. I understand they were probably busy, but only a maximum of 4 tables were occupied at any one time while were there and I doubt this is as crowded as their peak hour. If you want a local okonomiyaki experience, this is probably a good place for you, but avoid if you're not experienced and are not...

Very nice atmosphere! The food was excellent and you could cook your own monja and okonomiyaki! If you don't speak a bit of Japanese you can't read the menu! The staff was really kind and gave us a treat before...

這是我第一次在日本吃文字燒，吃的這麼生氣，我們的日文不好，從進門開始都要自己詢問，店員不主動服務，點完餐後，送上一個不是我們點的東西，詢問了幾次東西都燒焦了雞同鴨講下店員才告知我們說這個是前菜，在過程中如果是好的店家看到我們是外國人，做這種料理都會貼心的幫忙服務或提醒，而不是看著我們東西炒到都燒焦了還要自己去詢問，終於我們點的餐點來了，內容物非常少完全不值那個價值，吃完之後結帳多收了前菜的費用，我們告知這個我們並沒有點但他仍然要我們付錢，這真是一家不老實服務態度又差的店家。
