Butcher Republic Sendai — Restaurant in Sendai

We were seated at counter, though many tables were open and remained open while we dined. A couple came in after us and was given the option of table or counter. They chose table. First craft beer was served just below room temp and had very little carbonation (a snake in the glass). Second beer was good. Cold and plenty of bubbles (Shogun Haze). Chicago deep dish stopped being deep as soon as it was cut. Puddle of runny cheese. Sauce was ok, but a bit salty. Ordered the spicy pizza, but wasn’t that spicy. The angus steak was dry and tough. Denny’s has a better steak. Soup was ok, but they forgot to bring it without order and we had to specifically ask for it. The salad was perfect. Best part of the meal. We had an incredible dinner tonight. Cocktails were delicious (the fancier lemon sour was far too drinkable).

A word of warning - you don't need two pizzas 😂 I think I'm going to burst. I tried my best to be polite and finish but I let down my inner hobbit. (The lovely waiter did offer takeout - but I can't see me wanting to eat deep dish pizza in the morning).

Food is ordered via Line (luckily my misses is a japanophile and had secretly downloaded it so saved us hassle).

Staff had a better level of English that we did Japanese.

Went out of their way to serve us, non Japanese speaking people. Even when the we code want working they brought us a menu. We had 2 noir dottignies beers, nice dark beers with a lot of flavour. The food we ordered were the Belgian fries with cheese, Harrisa mayo and Truffle mayo, two deep dish pizzas and a steak with hamburger..all very well cooked. The steak was red and the hamburger was juicy and soft. Chips were amazing! Freshly fried and the mayos were delicious. Pizzas were also really good.
