OSTERIA CANTABILE da CIAORO （オステリア・カンタービレ・ダ・チャオロ） — Restaurant in Sendai

We were attracted by the lovely atmosphere inside where people were shouting enthusiastically, so we decided to try the restaurant out as walk-ins.

As we ordered our food, we were surprised that we needed to order a drink for every one of us. Despite us being non-alcoholic, the choices were limited. You're also not allowed to order mineral water apparently(?).

We waited for the food about 40 min+ to be served. Unfortunately, the carbonara and beef steak were not to our expectations. The carbonara being too peppery & eggy, while the spaghetti being a bit thick, while the beef was underseasoned & too chewy. Additionally, we ordered 2 servings of the beef but the way they were cooked were inconsistent, the other being much more seasoned & closer to medium-rare, the vegetables accompanying it, especially the grilled corn, tasted different as well.

We were also expecting this restaurant to serve pizza as well but there were none to my surprise!

All in all, it was quite underwhelming to have a late night dinner here, we can't still confirm about the quality the restaurant has provided because we are foreigners and looking at the previous reviews, we were also expecting that this restaurant...

Very good and fun italian restaurant with delicious and authentic food and very kind and friendly staff! The prices are very reasonable and the all you can drink service is not limited to 2 hours like in most places but only by the closing hours of the restaurant! Amazing right?
