Kokohanten Shizuoka 2 Goten — Restaurant in Shizuoka

Today, November 10, 2024, at 5:30 PM, I’m having dinner here with my husband. We plan to order a variety of dishes because we’re hungry and haven’t had Chinese food in a long time. Today marks four weeks of our travels in Japan. Here is my complaint to the owner(I translated to Japanese and showed him);

“I just wanted to sit at table 13 (a table for four), but the female staff said, ‘Only small tables for two people’ and refused. We requested table 13 because we wanted a little more space, but she didn’t accommodate us at all and kept refusing and said this is the rule in Japanese restaurants.Now I see that only two people are dining at table 13 and the table beside no 13.Is your waitress treating us in a discriminatory way? Why should we be treated so unfairly? I will write a negative review on social media about the service at this restaurant. I’m from Australia and I am part of social media groups, especially the ‘Japan Travel’ group. I have been traveling in Japan for 4 weeks, and this is the only restaurant I’ve encountered that treats people in such an openly discriminatory manner. It’s truly unfortunate and disappointing! Also,a piece of stainless steel dish scrubber was found in our food; thankfully, it wasn’t swallowed! What if it was the children eating? It would be very dangerous! So unhygienic! If I can give them big ZERO review,definitely will do it! To whom will travel to Japan especially Shizuoka,you better go to another restaurant,avoid this...

静岡に来ました。

誕生日で夜のお店に行く前にサクッと来てみました。 店内の雰囲気は汚い感じででも広々としていてすごく居やすい感じです。

でもスタッフの対応がかなり悪いです。多国籍の人なので本当はそんな感じなのかもしれませんが日本で言うとすごく態度は悪いです。すみませんって呼んでも返事もせずにゆっくりとこっちにくる感じです。暇な時もカウンターに腰をかけて座っている感じです。

ただこうゆう感じのお店として海外にいる感じで考えればすごくいい感じには思えます。

料理はエビチリ、チンジャオロース、バンバンジー、かに玉、じゃがいもと豚肉の炒め、餃子など色々頼みました。料理は結構美味しいです。
