We came to Shizuoka to visit my cousin for a week this summer. I traveled with my mother, brother and 10 year old son from the U.S. This hotel was in a great location, and it was very clean and nice. Be prepared that almost no one here speaks English, so have your translator app ready! The lobby is on the top floor, and the restaurant is in the basement. The rooms are small, and there is no where to store your luggage. I literally slept in bed with my suitcase on the end of it ;) The amenities in the bathrooms are very nice. They provided toothbrushes, toothpaste, a cooling towel, hair brush, etc. They also provide daily bottled water and hot tea. We ate breakfast at the hotel one morning which was about 1000 yen, but it was very good. The service was excellent! Read moreThere are two hotels starting with "Garden" in Shizuoka, so don't get confused like I did. However, I ended up staying at both hotels, so you can also read my review for the other hotel. The room I got from this hotel had a window but I had a view of the corridor facing another window from a different room, so I had to keep the curtains closed at all times. The room looked like the picture I saw on the website but the picture was nicer...The room/furniture looked worned down and there was nothing aesthetically pleasing about the room at all. Reception is on the rooftop and there is no staff down stair.||The room is nice, clean and comfortable.
