Good place to try out the local specialty food of Takamatsu.

I got young chicken (wakadori) because I saw other people eating the old chicken, the meat is so tough that it requires a scissors to split it.

The young chicken is very tender and the grilled part is seasoned with black pepper. The meat seems marinated as it doesn't taste bland without the grilled layer.

The design of the shop is pretty interesting and the staff were nice. They also have English and Chinese menu, the Japanese menu looks very traditional so its a bit hard to understand what's on the menu.

The chicken and a beer cost me 1600 yen, not bad a deal!

We arrived at around 7pm on Saturday, and lined up for around 15mins before getting a seat. If you haven't tried the chicken with bones, I'd recommend trying a mature chicken rather than the young chicken. The young chicken still tasted good, but not as special as the mature chicken. The mature chicken leg is very chewy (but definitely not too hard to swallow) and have a much richer flavour. It is different from conventional chicken legs that we can get elsewhere. There are a few restaurants in Takamatsu specializing in black pepper-rubbed and roasted chicken legs, and this is a pretty popular one. Wait times appear to be 30-60min on average.

Seems most people order the young chicken ("若い") as the mature chicken is really chewy. It basically tastes like regular chicken, but it's quite high quality and juicy.
