串打ちジビエと鰻串 新宿寅箱 — Restaurant in Tokyo

It was a really great place so I wanted to leave a review for everyone to see - I was looking for an izakaya that was not too touristy, and this was the place.

There was an English menu available and the Master could speak good English, so no worries if you can't speak Japanese.

Ordered an grilled eel to eat (shirayaki & soy sauce), it took a while to cook but it was defintely worth waiting. The atmosphere was really great, and other food (potato salad, deer & boar skewers) were perfect as well. Have had the chance to chat with other Japanese customers sitting next and was a great experience.

If you are looking for a place not too croweded with tourists and want to enjoy a native-like experience, I would recommend this place 100%. If I have the chance to go back to Tokyo, will be certainly revisiting. Thanks Master for...

My girlfriend and I were looking for a good meal at a late hour. We stumbled upon this place and went in, not knowing what to expect. We couldn't read the menu and the chef couldn't converse in English. We could only point to pictures we saw over the internet from the shop and also ask the chef for recommendation (using Google Translate to converse). 6 days on and my partner and I reflected back on our trip.
