(tefu) lounge Shimokitazawa — Restaurant in Tokyo

I was looking for a place to kill time before an appointment in Shimokitazawa. I’m so glad I stopped here and was able to get a couple hours of work done. One of the staff members spoke English and was able to help me with setting up an account for the work lounge.

It was ¥900 per hour with unlimited drinks (water, hot coffee, iced coffee, hot or iced tea) and 10% off any menu items from their regular menu. The work and lounge area was clean and spacious and pretty empty. The website and app is mostly in Japanese, so it was a little difficult to navigate but the staff were very patient and understanding. I like the international style of space design. And there is acceptable coffee and food. But the service quality is unexpected bad compared to other cafe service in Japan. The reason might because the most of staff doesn’t speaks English and some of them is really confusing and easy getting angry when they trying to express in English. This place has GREAT coffee. I loved the flat white and even the americano. All coffee is made with a lot of attention to details, and quality beans are used. The only down side is that sure enough, every hipster in the neighborhood frequents this place and cringes old grumpy grandpas like me.
