Visited this restaurant with a friend. The atmosphere was casual and lively, with noticeable background music playing and other customers enjoying conversations.
It’s possible our voices got a little louder at times, but it was never intentional or disruptive. Also the owner didn’t tell us that customers should speak quietly.
Suddenly, an older man sitting behind us slammed the table and shouted “Too loud!” We were shocked and immediately lowered our voices. He had dropped what looked like a glass earlier, and based on his behavior, we suspected he might have been drunk. Even after yelling, he kept making movements like he was about to come over to confront us directly. His behavior felt threatening, and at one point, I seriously considered calling the police.
When the owner came out, we hoped for some neutral handling, but instead he immediately blamed us, saying “You’re too loud” and “This is not that kind of restaurant.”
I asked, “But aren’t other customers also chatting?” The owner then pointed at my friend and said, “Your voice is too high,”
That regular customer even told us to “Go back to your country.” It was deeply offensive and discriminatory. Even after that, the owner continued to take the regular’s side without addressing his behavior. We were shocked and disappointed.
The food was nothing special, though reasonably priced. But after this experience, I would not recommend the restaurant to foreigners or first-time visitors seeking a welcoming and fair...
Read moreIf you are craving homey, rustic Mediterranean food and don’t mind the one or other extra calories this is the place. Price is unbeatable for usual Meguro standards. Keep in mind however that you can’t order a la carte and have to go with the sets which are available on the day - average 2000JPY/person + 2000-3000/bottle of wine.
Since tables are limited make sure to make a reservation. Overall a highly recommended place to choose if you plan a date or...
Read moreVery nice restaurant between Meguro and Ebisu. Mediterranean cuisine. A 4-dish course would cost you around 2,000 yen. Signature dishes include eggplant with cheese, baked turban shell with garlic butter, sea perch with white cream, etc. All very good. A bottle of wine is somewhere between 2,000 and 3,000 yen which are also quite reasonable. Small restaurant so be sure to...
