The place is nice and food is average but the customer service is terrible. Definitely not coming again.

Adding after owner’s first reply: I did not order only one dish to share with my friend. We were a party of 4 and each of us ordered a dish and a drink as we were told by the waitress (who was actually very nice). For the vegan dinner plate, the menu said “+300 yen for sharing”, I interpreted this as “you can get a bigger portion to share for 300 yen more” so I ordered that so that my friend could eat it as well since she was just ordering a salad. All of us, foreigners from different countries, agreed in the meaning of “+00 yen for sharing”. One of my other friends ordered the vegan dinner plate for one person and when the food arrived, we were surprised that the “for sharing” plate and the “one person” plate looked exactly the same so I asked the waitress to check on that, and she came back and said that “for sharing” means when you only order that plate to share by 2 or more people not more food, so I said “ok, in that case could you count it as normal (not for sharing) as we’ve all ordered food”. After a bit, the owner came to tell me that they’ll still charge me the 300 extra because my intend was to share the plate with my friend (she has a salad) and said that the expression was misleading and that I was ok with paying but maybe they should change it to something more understandable, at least the English part. We had this conversation in Japanese and he kept asking me if I understood the meaning of the words on the menu, which was rude and offensive and I was taking to him in Japanese without any issues. He also said that this was the first time someone mentioned something about this so maybe it was a problem of concepts, as I said before, it was not only me but 4 different people from different countries that agreed on the meaning of the menu. I think the reason for this is that probably people before haven’t ordered the “for sharing” and the “one person” plate at the same time to compare and realise they’re exactly the same. In the end, I just said “it’s ok” because I wanted to enjoy my meal with my friends. I never got hysteric as he wrote and I bet any person there could vouch for me on this matter, all I wanted was for him to understand that a change in the menu would be better for future customers (tbh I don’t think 300 yen are worth a fight) but he just kept pointing how “misunderstanding” it was my fault. I just hope he doesn’t encounter this issue in the future and if he does, he has a better attitude toward...

I could not recommend this cafe highly enough. I have been a regular here for two months. This cafe is: Inexpensive, vegan /vegetarian friendly, but also has meat options, desserts, snacks,teas and coffees from all over the world, full meals, beer wine etc, friendly and English speaking owners. Always a cozy and calm atmosphere, the cafe is made by hand by the owners out of natural materials which do not harm the body. Natsusa-san has traveled to over 50 countries, and Junpei-san is an amazing cook and very funny. They are very friendly and love meeting and learning about new people. Sit at the counter and chat with them if you have the chance. If you want to practice your Japanese, they will be very patient trying to figure out what you are saying (haha). I could not give high enough praise for such a wonderful place. It is easy to get to from Takadananobaba station and...

Well, that was a very nice discovery. I had an amazing lunch, I ordered a bean soup that comes with bread and salad, not a big deal, right... Well... The details made the meal special and so enjoyable : garlic, herbs and olive oil in the bread, raisins and melon in the salad, and the soup was DELICIOUS, spicy but just the perfect amount, full of flavors. And everything was in the right well thought portion. I ordered a muffin to end with a sweet note, I was not expecting much, it was the nicest surprise since i got a warm generous and obviously home made banana muffin. I never write comments, but I had to since I was very pleased to have lunch here.

I'll most definitely come back.
