Dumbo Donuts and Coffee Azabujuban — Restaurant in Tokyo

What's the main element of a doughnut? Precisely. The dough. To find that was exactly what was lacking with the ones offered at Dumbo, was disappointing to me. I was craving for good old doughnuts and made my way to Azabujyuban due to the rave reviews. However the dough was too chewy, and the toppings for the Passion Fruit and the Matcha I ordered were below par.

The two redeeming factors were the coffee and the visually-pleasing aesthetics of the doughnuts. I would say that the price commensurates the size of the doughnuts (they were larger than the regular sized ones) but the taste was too bland I had a hard time finishing just one doughnut.

The shop is rather small, can only house around 8 people at a time, but it really gives you a great ‘hipster’ vibe (great for photos) with seats facing the windows which allow you to people-watch while having...

Best doughnuts I've had. The coffees are great too, big and cheap. They may serve minimal things but this is the best thing about the place, less is more, and this is not America with ridiculously long menus (whoever moaned about the drinks they serve). The doughnuts are so soft but some flavours they really do not have a clue about here. The chocolate is awful and whatever chocolate they use they need to change. The matcha and cheesecake are unbelievable. Every now and then they'll have new flavours, most of which really sound awful (melon and chocolate...), If you're going to experiment with flavours, get it right. Also be prepared for empty headed native girls who tend to flock here to take photos of...

Been going here at least once a week since it was a new place in the area. Not giving 5 stars because I was kinda grossed out when I saw a worker licking icing off his finger while he was placing the donuts for display.

The front door is usually open, so I often saw flies flying around and occasionally landing on the displays. The same male staff caught me noticing the donut with "extra toppings" on it and gave me a cold stare before tossing it into the garbage.

If it's your first time there I personally don't recommend getting the "passion fruit" and the "green tea cream cheese".
