Was just reminded of how much I loved this restaurant, so am finally getting around to leaving a review. My husband and I visited in October of 2023 purely by accident, we were just wandering around the quiet streets of Daikanyama and spotted this vibey, glowing, inviting spot with a couple counter seats available at the front and figured we would stop in for a drink.
The funny part was that about an hour earlier, we sat scouring Google maps looking for an Italian place to eat some pasta (we were towards the end of our trip, and needed a break from Japanese food) but couldn’t find anything that looked super appealing online that was close by. This place literally magically appeared out of the darkness, and turned out to be a kind of Italian-Japanese fusion spot. The special that night was a scallop lemon pasta, and I don’t think I’d ever been happier in my life than at that exact moment.
We went back a couple days later for lunch to try their chicken curry lunch special which was fantastic, and then ended up going AGAIN the day after for one of our last meals in Japan. Was definitely one of our favorite restaurants of the trip, and would highly recommend. The staff were so friendly, the vibe was just right, it was cozy and the food was...
Read moreNever been as disappointed in a local restaurant, especially since I live around the corner and wanted to like this place. Arrived at 11:01pm, to a half-filled bar, and was told last order was at 11pm. Assuming that was for food, as Grigio is open until 12am, I asked 飲む物だけ大丈夫? The main staff said drink last order was also at 11pm because the staff all have trains they need to catch. I told him you are open until 12am anyway and that my fiancee and I are very capable of ordering and finishing a drink within 20-30 minutes, but he only repeated that it is not possible in fake polite fashion. We had a few words with each other after that, so if this is how Grigio treats local customers then I will never return and will spread the word. There are rules, which I understand, and then there's BS, which needs to...
Read moreHave you ever been to a restaurant that made you wish that you actually live in the city so that you can come back often? This is the place - filled with good food and friendly people that felt more like family regardless of your language, background. I was lucky to meet the owner who is such a lovable, modest and humble man and a bunch of good people who are regulars to the restaurant. I’ve only got one photo here because I was too busy enjoying the company I had for the night. The tonkatsu sandwich is amazing, asparagus and parma ham (as seen on the photo) is excellent and everything else tastes really good - nothing to fault. Try the “something something meat” too if you dare, trust me you won’t regret. Amazing place - the next time I’m in Tokyo,...
