Hotel Toranomon Hills - The Unbound Collection by Hyatt — Restaurant in Tokyo

To sum my stay, it was a mediocre and sub-standard hotel stay experience. After staying for 6 nights, here are the areas in which the hotel needs to improve & work on:

No Uber pick-up point for this 5 star establishment, find this to be very ridiculous. Unable to locate the hotel pick-up point on the Uber App. Instead, Uber suggested to pick up at other areas around Toranomon Hills such as Mori Tower, Business Tower or the Suites area. All of these 3 pick-ups points were all far from the hotel. One of us even has to walk to the neighbouring hotel: The Okura Prestige, in order to book a car in Uber app to make an extra stop at Hotel Toranomon Hills before heading to Haneda Airport, simple because Hotel Toranomon Hills is not Uber-friendly.

Lobby/Check-in reception and La Pristine Cafe. Both the reception and the restaurant (open-bar concept) are on the ground level. During periods in which the restaurant was crowded due to breakfast, it can be very dangerous. Accidents may also occur as waiters are walking around the lobby area with food, guests are pushing the luggage in and out of the hotel, kids can also be seen running around. Please look into this as this is a major safety concern.

Hotel lobby has no pleasant fragrance. All I can smell is just the aroma of food. As a 5-star establishment, should invest in some pleasant fragrance to make the place better.

The hotel concierge staff is always not around. Whenever we need a taxi, it is always be the staff of the office tower next door to help us to get a taxi, instead of the actual hotel concierge staff. On a side note, there are no taxis queuing outside the hotel, unlike other 5-star hotels around Tokyo.

Lack of choices of pillows. No firm or hard pillows were offered upon request of non-feather bedding.

Double standard. In the restrooms of the lobby area, Aesop products were used. However, in guest rooms, other-branded toiletries were used instead of Aesop. No consistency at all.

Television in guest rooms. Number of channels on Television could be improved with more kids, entertainment channels and news channels, such as Disney Channel, Cartoon Network, HBO & Channel NewsAsia. Very sad selection of TV Channels for families with young children.

Breakfast Choices at La Pristine Cafe. The number of choices for the breakfast selection in the a lar carte menu can be improved with more choices. For guests staying 5 nights or more, will definitely find that they are having the same flavours of food over and over again, and will get tired of it sooner or later. Furthermore, have not eaten a breakfast omelette with absolutely no toppings. Very plain.

Overall, I feel that the amount of money I paid for the stay did not justify for this 5-star establishment. The hotel under-deliver a lot of things and truth to be told, I am very disappointed with this stay, will not...

Hotel Toranomon Hills is a masterclass in refined luxury—a place where everything feels seamlessly curated, from the sleek design to the intuitive service. It’s the kind of hotel that doesn’t try too hard to impress, yet exceeds expectations in every way.

The aesthetic is modern and minimalist, but never sterile. There’s a warmth to the space, a thoughtful balance of textures and materials that makes it feel both sophisticated and inviting. Every detail, from the subtle lighting to the carefully chosen furnishings, reflects an attention to detail that speaks for itself.

Service here is quietly impeccable—attentive without being intrusive, always anticipating what you need before you have to ask. We were expecting a shipment from Kanazawa, which was delayed due to heavy snow, and the front desk took care of everything, tracking it with the shipping company and keeping us updated. It’s these small but meaningful touches that make all the difference.

We stayed in a Tokyo Tower view room, and it was stunning. The floor-to-ceiling window turned the skyline into a living artwork, shifting beautifully from day to night. The room itself was far more spacious than the Tokyo standard, designed with understated elegance and functional comfort. The bed was exceptional, and we appreciated the complimentary snacks, non-alcoholic drinks, and well-curated tea and coffee selection. Everything was intentional—nothing excessive, yet nothing overlooked.

The hotel is part of the Toranomon Hills complex, sitting right above Toranomon Hills subway station, making it an ideal base for getting around Tokyo. The entrance isn’t immediately obvious, especially when exiting the subway for the first time, but once we figured it out, it was incredibly convenient:

The guest room elevators connect directly to Level 5 of the mall, which was our preferred access point. If entering from outside on Level 5, a room key card is required, adding an extra sense of security.

There’s also access through the main entrance on Level 1, which leads through the front desk and a popular restaurant, but we found the Level 5 route quieter and more efficient.

The Toranomon Hills area blends business district efficiency with a more refined, relaxed urban culture. The mall beneath the hotel is filled with upscale cafes, restaurants, and shops, making it easy to grab a quick coffee or enjoy a relaxed evening without even stepping outside.

Hotel Toranomon Hills isn’t about flash—it’s about refinement, comfort, and effortless hospitality. Everything here feels well considered and gracefully executed, making for a calm, elevated experience in the heart of Tokyo. It’s now our preferred hotel in the city, and we’re already looking forward...

We had an average experience at Hotel Toranomon Hills, which opened six months ago. The rooms are beautiful, featuring high-end materials and magnificent design. The common spaces are also very elegant. The service is impeccable, and all the staff were amazing; kind and friendly. The location is excellent, with a metro line right in the building. We booked a room with a view of Tokyo Tower, and it was incredible (We appreciated less the sink that was in the room and not the bathroom; we found it less practical).

In addition to these positive aspects, the hotel offers a water fountain in the room, a free minibar (except alcoholic drinks) and a 24-hour lounge with complimentary drinks and snacks. However, despite these benefits, our stay was ultimately average due to issues with noise and insulation in the rooms.

The hotel occupies four floors in the tower, from the 11th to the 14th. On our first night, we stayed on the 11th floor (the first floor of the hotel) and could hear everyone heading to the lounge, which is located at the end of the hallway. The doors do not effectively block noise, and we were even woken up at 4 a.m. by people talking loudly in the hallway.

The next day, we requested a room change and were moved to the 13th floor. Unfortunately, we had no luck here either, as the guests in the room above us were very loud, preventing us from sleeping until 1:30 a.m. The sound and vibrations traveled easily through the building structure. This is disappointing for a hotel that is only six months old and located in a 2023 skyscraper. We then asked to be moved to the 14th floor, but even there, we could still hear our neighbors.

We originally planned to stay for six nights at this wonderful hotel, but we had to cut our stay short to just three nights due to the noise issues. We were very sad to leave, but we need a good night's sleep when we're on vacation to have the energy to explore the city the next day. If you are sensitive to noise like us, this is not the best hotel for you. Otherwise, we recommend the hotel for all the other positive aspects.

P.S. We are loyal members of the Hyatt group, and last November, we stayed at the Park Hyatt. It was a dream stay, and we never had any issues with noise, even though the hotel is 30 years old! Unfortunately, the Park Hyatt is currently closed for...
