An excellent standing sushi bar with many options and sushi prepared right in front of you.
The restaurant’s sushi was absolutely delicious! The fish all tasted fresh and was prepared well. There are many different options if you wish to order a la carte or you can go with one of the omakase style sets which were around at 3500-4500 yen when I attended. There are many different types of fish to choose from so you will not have a hard time finding something that suits your palette. One thing to note is the chef who was preparing our dishes used more wasabi in the dishes than many other sushi restaurants. This did not negatively impact my experience but may be something to note if you’re sensitive to spicy foods. The menu also has a good amount of side of drink options. They do seem to sell out of some items quickly, so you may want to attend earlier in the day if you’re interested in a specific popular dish.
You order from a tablet at a standing bar which has English translations. The sushi is prepared and placed on a plate in front of you and the chef will call out what fish each piece contains. The name of each piece was usually called out in Japanese. This can be difficult to determine which piece was which if you’re not familiar with the Japanese names. The food was prepared quickly with no detriment to the quality of the food.
This restaurant is credit card only. It is also a little difficult to find. It is located on B1 tucked away towards the back corner of the tower station food hall. You will walk past multiple bars are restaurants...
Read moreOMG! ❤️ I’ve eaten here 100 times, well maybe that’s an exaggeration, but let’s just say I’ve eaten here quite a bit. It’s my favorite restaurant in Tokyo and in case you didn’t know there are 160,000 restaurants here. Food: Just everything is perfect, fresh sushi, perfect rice blended together with subtle flavoring, every mouthful is a 10 without the formality of taking a long time to eat. Or the extravagance of paying an arm and a leg for the refined sushi experience. Service: These guys are the dream team. They work together like Olympic gold medalists, smooth as silk. Atmosphere: It’s the cool conservative crowd from Toronomon Hills, looking like every day people, but knowing this is the spot to be. Sake: Their exclusive house sake is to die for. Be sure to order a glass or two, makes everything even better. Yamaharu is an absolute gem in an ocean of Tokyo restaurants. If you haven't been, you're missing out big time. Get over here and...
Read moreThis place is pretty good. Sushi made right in front of you and as you order it. It is a standing sushi bar so don’t expect to have chairs around.
Drinks and food come out real quick and the staff are very courteous. As I have noticed, all of them are sushi chef’s and they just take turns with serving, prep at the back and taking payments. they always serve with a delightful energy and big smiles.
Food is delectable and perfect sushi size. You have to watch out how much you order though, lol. The use of the iPad when ordering is very convenient. Very easy to use and straight-forward. When paying for your food, take the red number on your section and bring it to the counter. I highly recommend Yamaharu!
PS: Oh, and if you are not familiar with Tokyo, this Sushi bar is in the basement of a big office building inside of its high-end food court. I had a a hard looking for it outside of the...
