Visited late in the night (2:00am) and I was surprised by how lively it was. We waited in the line outside for around 5 minutes and the server guided us into the restaurant. Although the restaurant was filled with locals they had an English menu and a staff who can speak english. We ordered the akasaka mori miso ramen, medium fried rice and 6pcs fried gyoza. The portion size is definitely on the larger size than other Japanese local places. Even though it is a ramen place, I personally enjoyed their fried rice and dumplings more. Dumplings were super juicy and crispy on the top and the fried rice was full of flavor. The miso ramen, reminded a bit of korean bean paste soups, having a slight pepper and red pepper kick in the back. Noodles were fresh and cooked well and toppings were harmonious with the soup and noodles. In general it was bit salty but the atmosphere and general quality of food is very nice, I would definitely recommend this place to anyone staying near akasaka area.

This intimate little haunt for late night ramen noodles was a perfect way to cap off a long day and a 12 hr flight to Japan. Dark wood interior gives this gem a bit of an old Edo Tokyo feel. Staff was very friendly and could speak some English as well. We ordered the miso-shoyu (soy sauce) based broth with our ramen. Hearty and full of umami, it gave a "stick-to-your-ribs kind of feel as I slurped it down. Accompaniments included, bean sprouts, pea pod, two hearty-cut pieces of chashu (roast pork), soft boiled egg and bamboo shoots along with the standard negi (green onions). Noodles had a good bite with a bit of chew: a bit more than I prefer but not bad at all. We also got an order of gyoza and a couple cold Asahi beers. On a cool fall evening this was a nice way to fill our bellies before trying to set our new clocks to Asian time zones.

Our favourite ramen, gyoza and fried rice in Akasaka! Situated in front of the Centurion Classic Akasaka Hotel, it’s perfectly located. We came four years ago, and had been looking forward to coming back - it hasn’t missed a beat. The queue of “salarymen” waiting to eat says that this has the locals’ seal of approval! There were 6 of us eating, and we paid ¥7,400: this is cheap, cheerful and delicious!! The fast pace of the kitchen means you sit, order and start eating within 5 mins. We had the “Akasaka-mori” (deluxe Ramen), the homemade gyoza and some fried rice with barbecued pork slices. It was all very filling and very tasty. You can’t go wrong and the guys and girls doing the cooking are amazing!

We came to this ramen restaurant after finishing a 12-hour flight from CA, USA without really reading the reviews of nearby restaurants. We tried the asakasa-mori dish as well as gyoza and felt it was so delicious especially coming from the Bay Area with mediocre ramen places. We were blown away by the taste of the ramen at first time here in Japan but after staying in Japan for 10 days I can say this ramen isn’t the best we had. Definitely the pork is dry and the broth is lackluster. I think for the first time off a flight from outside Japan you can be wowed by this ramen but there are better ramen out there. Still it is pretty good and I give 3/5 for this ramen.

As my friend and I failed to find a seat for dinner in a tofu resto, we randomly searched for a ramen resto in Akasaka, so that we could warm ourselves up during the cold weather. . Both of us got the Karamiso, which was Ramen with Spicy Miso Based Soup. It included roast pork, Chinese bamboo shoots, shredded-green onion, bean sprouts and a soft boiled egg. The ramen was served piping hot and had a satisfying chewiness. The bamboo shoot added an appetising touch. Personally I thought it would be nicer if the egg yolk could be more runny. . The resto was quite cramped, but the staff served efficiently, so one didn't have to wait for a long time.
