Among all the kaitenzushi chain restaurants I have went to, I think kappa really stands out for giving you the ability to order just 1 sushi (i mean like literally just 1 sushi, usually they come in pairs), so you can try many different kinds without getting full of rice. Well that would have been the case had they had more varieties of sushi. Well that might be a bit harsh but I really just ran out of things to try or look forward to after the 2nd visit. And the gunkan section is really hit or miss depending. My partner had to go throw up due to the yam one. Personally, I think the gunkan at kappa is a bit too inclined on slimy stuff so if you don't like slimy stuff don't order gunkans. For nigiri, it's the normal here, the highlight for my spicy-seeking tongue were the aburi section. I would really recommend trying out the aburi eel. Side dishes and deserts were lackluster comparatively. It's fine if you go alone but maybe try the choshimaru next door if you're on a date (never tried myself yet tho, be THE one to write that one up).
Pro tip: if you want cold water, they're available outside of your table around the windows or ledges around the room. If you get bored with just wasabi or shoyuu, why not try wasabijoyuu (just mixture of wasabi and shoyuu but mix it prior on the small plate, try out all the shoyuu types to get that...
Read moreIf you want a good quality belt sushi and low prices, this is the place! Kappa sushi has a large menu, with many different options, from Nigiri, sashimi, roll sushis, tempuras. I think this place has a lot of options for 110 yen, not just the simple ones cost this price. So you can try almost all the menu. It's a good option when you are traveling outside the big cities. If you need to choose between hama sushi or kappa I would highly recommend you kappa bc they have more options and not just traditional sushi 🍣. If you don't eat to much...maybe you will spend no more than 500 yen, if you want to eat a lot 1000 yen each permit...
Read moreThe sushi is cheap and they also have an option to buy one piece for 50 yen! This means that you can try different kinds without committing to two pieces. They have sea urchin as well but it is not the best quality (what do you expect for ¥100?) Be careful not to go during rush hour and if you do make sure that you use the Phone app to make a reservation. I made my reservation for 8 PM and I was able to get a seat right away even though there were about 50 people waiting in line....
