Hidden gem not too far from the Shibuya station. Visited this place more than 20 times over the years and still very much enjoy the omakase experience run by a family. I pretty much see them every time I visit Tokyo.
Choice of fish is always subject to what the chef thinks are of the best quality. Of all the piece, his “aji” (mackerel) is by far his signature piece. Topped w a pinch of grated ginger and scallions, the aji is just the best!!!
Highlight of the omakase: Aji definitely is the best. I ordered extra pieces at the end. The abalone was flavorful and tender. The akagai and the scallop sushi pieces were swimming fresh. The tamagoyaki had a touch of sweetness and was fluffy. The shrimp sushi was sweet. Toro melted in my mouth instantly.
Ambience - totally down to earth and not pretentious.
Service - warm and not imposing. On a side note, the Chef takes the time every day to sharpen the disposable chopsticks so that it is easier for us to use.
Price - value for money...
