This place has some actual sushi on their conveyor belt but it was all their cheap stuff, which is understandable. It was pretty empty when I went in the afternoon so I didn't really trust the sushi that was on the belt and for someone that can't read Japanese I wasn't sure if they guaranteed freshness of them or not. I ordered all my sushi on the tablet and half of their selection is kind of pricey compared to other chain sushi places. I had a drink, a tempura don, and 5 plates of sushi and it still nearly ran me up 2,000 yen. If you're hungry it could easily cost you upwards of 3,000 and more if you order dessert, let alone their themed menu items. Their salmon roe was pretty skimpy and the cucumber they add to it ruins the taste of the roe. They just add it as filler and to look good. What I can recommend is their thick brined/cured fatty mackerel and their tempura nigiri. The service, or rather the automated ticket system is easy to follow with no interaction needed with anyone if you're too shy or don't speak Japanese. Paying is just as simple and you can use the machine to dump all your small change into all at once instead of fumbling with it in front of an actual person since it can be a bit embarrassing and time consuming. Over all I'd come here if you want to actually experience conveyor belt sushi and grab a plate off the track instead of having to order it all off a tablet, though for the expensive stuff you will have to do...
Read moreKura sushi. Kaiten sushi, but more!
So conveyer belt sushi is where you sit at a bench in front of a moving conveyer belt that circulates sushi around. At kura sushi you'll sit at a table with a touch screen and conveyer belt at your side!
You probably have to wait, as it's pretty popular, there's a little reception podium thing you should start with.
When you are shown to your table, make sure to make your self some matcha, by scooping the green powder from the canister and adding hot water from the spout at your table!
Push the English button menu, (or just leave it in Japanese if you're feeling adventurous) and navigate the menu to make a specific order! You'll find things from sashimi to ice cream, and it'll give you a nice little ring when it arrives!
Otherwise you can catch any thing you want passing by on the belt. (It's a little intimidating, but the trick is to directly grab the plate and the dome'll flip open as you take the plate.)
As you eat you'll accumulate plates, guess what -- there's a little plate shaped hole under the monitor...
Just plop your empty plates into the hole, the machine will count how many you have had, and at every 5 plates the monitor will play a gatcha-game! (Its pretty cute.) If you win, the gatcha machine above the monitor will spit out a ball with your prize inside!
It's seriously a fun little place, great for anyone, regardless of Japanese language level! Kids would love it! Definitely...
Read morewaited for an hour plus only for the computer managing the cues and numbers to break down (freeze) and none of the staff to notice and waiting customers to be stuck in the waiting room seeing people walk out but nobody being let in. i honestly feel bad for the staff, because it seems like they were dealing with this headache of an error and had to compensate for such.
the food quality is pretty bad (even though it’s cheap, but other japan branches of kura have been delightful) compared to the rest of the kuras i’ve been to, even compared to the US branches. props to the chefs for making the sushi so fast - everyone started ordering on the tablets (because there was no actual sushi on the actual conveyor belt) and i heard the little beeps of the plates arriving on the conveyor belts above so many times it’s impressive. props to the chefs, but the malfunction and quality of the fish here, etc honestly made this experience pretty terrible. we were sat at 10:10PM when we cued at 8:45 for an estimated seating time of 9:30 and we had to complain to the staff at 9:45 when the cue wasn’t moving at all for 20-30 minutes, which was the only way they found out about the malfunction. hardworking staff but this place just isn’t it and really can’t compare to the rest of the...
