Stayed at this hotel in mid January 2024, and would stay again as well as recommend to others.
Accommodation: It is a business hotel, but definitely tourist friendly too. The front desk staff spoke English very well. Rooms were spacious enough, clean, and quiet with YouTube on the television and the ability to screen cast if desired.
Amenity bar in the lobby stocked with lotion, q tips, toothbrush, hair brush, etc. Handy if you're traveling light or forget anything. 5 kilogram coin operated washers and dryers on the lobby floor 300 yen for wash and 200-300 yen for dry.
They offer late checkout for 1,000 yen per hour, which I thought was quite affordable.
Location: a 5 minute walk to the Ikebukuro Sunshine Bus Terminal and Sunshine City Prince Hotel which has a direct limousine bus to Haneda Airport. This was a huge benefit to us as we had some large luggage.
10 minute easy walk to Ikebukuro station. 7-eleven right down the street, within sight. Food options all around, including breakfast options such as Denny's, egg, and Johnathans.
The hotel provided a really nice information packet upon check-in complete with nearby restaurants, currency exchange, local information etc.
Overall: I thought this was an excellent value for how affordable the nightly rate was. I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone with small children, but for single or couple/friends traveling, this is a great bargain and a...
Read moreThis hotel has some good points. It’s clean and regular towel changes and nice communal facilities. The desk staff were always helpful and polite and let us into our room early which was really appreciated after a long international flight. There is a fridge in the room but no safe. The air con worked really well, I’d seen on another review someone had said there were no individual room controls and this is not the case. Only Japanese instructions available but the helpful desk staff immediately came up and showed us how to work it.. |the down sides where that we had booked a twin room but it was the size of a single with no room around the beds or anywhere to put down and open a case. Unfortunately there was no space to unpack k any clothes which, as we were there for 7 nights, made you not feel settled in a base. The window was really small and we were left joking we felt like we were staying in a prison cell. The area of Iberuko is ok, a bit out of the way but transport is around and we used taxis a lot as they were very reasonable and more convenient. |We used a lot of organised tours and this worked really well but they were on the other side of Tokyo to the hotel which added time to get across town in...
Read moreWill posted more detailed review later. Good service and very convenient lobby, possibly one of the most interesting, cleanest, coziest and most useful that I've been to. Amenity bar is the BEST I've seen by far, so far, with variety of different teas, facial cleansers etc., and other bathroom items. Cafe is great for food, beverage and amenities. Clean and cheap washer & dryer.
But, I cannot give it 5 stars sadly, because hotel cleanliness is not as good as other hotels, especially 2F. It was dusty and musty in my hall and room, but not so much in higher floors. (I requested high floors but the manager only gave me the lowest floor, disappointed there despite otherwise good service) There is a weird stink in the ice and vending machine rooms, which sometimes enters thru the air conditioner. Without the A/C on cold, the room always smells strange.
Location is decent and quiet, close to Sunshine City and Ike-bus, 10min walk from Ikebukuro station and other metro stations. Will consider coming back if I hear the...
