DO NOT RECOMMEND. The living conditions aren’t suitable for these babies and the condition of the place probably isn’t healthy for staff either. The sugar gliders were being kept in non-metal cages which is bad for ventilation, and the cages should not be as small as they are. the cages should be at least 36 inches tall, but these were tiny little cages, about 6-7 inches tall. Sugar gliders are also nocturnal and colony animals. These babies are being kept awake during the day for visitors, and it’s also crucial for gliders to be kept in pairs of 2 or more and be socialized well, but cages are no where near big enough for one them, let alone two. These sugar gliders were also very shaky, which is normal when their waking up, temperature regulating, or when they’re nervous. But these babies were shaking during the whole 30 minutes, and though it may be a scary situation to meet new people, these gliders have lived day in and day out meeting new people. Meaning, they should be pretty used to new people and them shaking so much could be a cause for concern. (assuming the gilders have been there for some time.) Not only this, but a glider jumped from a visitor and the staff member took their time to react. the screaming a from the visitors didn’t phase the staff member at all, and it took them a few moments to finally begin retrieving the glider. The otters. Some otters were kept in cages which isn’t suitable since otters have a natural wild instinct and need activity space, as well as lots of exposure to stimulation. These otters are kept in cages while humans constantly interact with them, so that could be considered their stimulation, but it can also be stressful for the otters with the constant interactions. Otters need lots of space, and cages obviously won’t cut it. Though there were also little rooms with a glass window and a tiny little pool, they still are not nearly enough activity space that otters need. Not to mention the enclosures and cages seemed quite unsanitary and there was a significant amount of visible grime. Also the fact these babies were grasping through the cage bars for food as if they hadn’t eaten in days, and if you put your hand out with no treat, they would just keep searching and searching your hand, looking desperately for food. There was also a room where people could sit on the floor while otters ran around and played with various toys that were scattered around. This was a nice touch since it allowed the otters to be active and interact with one another, but there was one thing that stood out. Every time the staff member got near the door, or opened it, the otters scrambled to try and escape, they did this at any possible chance to get out. Not only this, but while in the room there were some people being disrespectful to the otters. They were pulling tails, legs, etc, and the staff did nothing. I do not recommend visiting if you care for these lovely babies, they deserve a better...

Rating: ⭐⭐⭐☆☆
かわうそ幼稚園 (Kawauso Yochien) offers a unique experience, but it has its pros and cons. Here’s my take:
• Cute Otters 🦦 The otters are absolutely adorable! Watching them play and interact is a delightful experience, and they definitely steal the show.
• Reasonable Price 💰 The entry fee is quite affordable, making it accessible for families and visitors who want to enjoy a fun day out without breaking the bank.
• Unpleasant Smell 🚫 Unfortunately, the facility has a strong odor that can be off-putting. It detracts from the overall experience, especially if you’re sensitive to smells.
• Small Space 🏠 The area is relatively small, which can make it feel crowded at times. While it’s great to see the otters up close, the limited space might not be ideal for larger groups.
Overall, while かわうそ幼稚園 (Kawauso Yochien) has its charming aspects, the odor and small size may be drawbacks for some visitors. It’s a fun experience, but be prepared for...
Read moreWe booked online and went there right after their open hour which a very nice choice. Otters were still bathing and OMG they were soooooooo cute i could cry😭😭. We bought 30-min option with otter, played with the 4-sibling they were very energetic and running around, staff trick them into playing with us with their fav plush doll i think. It was a very nice experience since otter is not allowed as pet in our country. Staffs are very nice and helpful. Mind you the otter’s palm is sooo soft tou could fall in love. 😻
