This is a spot I used to take friends who were visiting me in my area or for lunch. I used to think they were a nice family who ran this place but I'll have to respectfully skip from now on. I always thought the food was decent although pricey, it was something I was fine with because the place looked solid and I like to support local businesses in my area.
I took my bf for dinner since he loves Thai food and our experience was so disappointing. The food was good and the vibes were nice. We were greeted by the wife and staff warmly as always but when my bf made me laugh, the owner snapped at our table and asked if there was a problem. Mind you this is a small restaurant and was full at the time, everyone can hear everything practically. There were other couples talking and laughing but he singled us out for some reason(maybe being the only non japanese table?). After he finishes making our food, his wife tried to get an apology from us and we felt so confused and wanted to leave right away. Right before this I was just telling my bf how great this place was and he was complimenting the design and then all of a sudden the owners talked to us as if we did something. While we were seated, she repeatedly pushed our chairs in a very impolite manner, which felt extremely rude.
What made it worse was the confusion with the menu. It’s divided into three sections: lunch, snacks, and dinner. She only informed us that the dinner section was unavailable, saying nothing about the snack section. Yet when we ordered items from both the lunch and snack sections, she grew impatient and abruptly told us we couldn’t...
