I can't express the precious, priceless, wondrous quality of time spent here: Art is not made of crayons or paint, canvas or ink, but made from the soul of humanity. Here coffee and snacks are made in the same caring, beautiful, expressive way. And friendships too! All are made of the simplest and purest stuff, expertly crafted for taste impressions & memories to last a lifetime. Edible, drinkable, huggable, lovable, memorable works of art. Humanity refined and perfected.

BIG LOVE! (as they say)

There is no tipping culture in Japan as we have in America, but I found myself wanting to pay 2x from gratitude. The place is not low-budget, honestly a bit premium. Yet you'll find the experience of this place and its people, worth far more than the money you'll pay.

When I return to Japan, I'll hurry back to Mia Mia...

The good folk at Mia Mia obviously value community, character and ambience. There's an air of fashionable Showa vintage about the place - It attracts people who have a good sense of art and design. There is an associated gallery just around the block.

It's welcoming - The kind of place where you are more than likely to find yourself in a conversation. Mia Mia makes an effort to reach out to neighbouring residents and businesses, strengthening the local community, a bit like the sort of friendly close-knit neighbourhood you might see in one of those heart-warming Japanese TV dramas.

My first visit was for a wonderful soul-soothing music performance, but I'm looking forward to returning to try their coffee, perhaps with one of their cardamom rolls, or an...

Mia Mia is more than a café—it’s a heartbeat tucked away in Tokyo, where time folds and familiarity greets you at the door. we visited last year, and returning this year felt as though no time had passed. The warmth of the space and the people within make it a rare kind of magic.

Vaughn and the beautiful souls who work here have built something extraordinary—a family that always has room for one more. The coffee is soulful, the atmosphere effortlessly indie, and every detail invites you to stay a little longer.

To walk into Mia Mia is to feel like you’ve found a home, no matter how far you’ve traveled. It’s a place that lingers with you, long after you’ve left. Highly...

Probably the best cafe in Tokyo that I’ve been to. The coffee, atmosphere, people, music and location. I feel so at home here. Beans are from Padre Coffee (Australia) and my favorite is their latte paired with the cardamom bun. I love that it’s a warm and cozy spot where you can end staying for hours talking to the owner, who is Australian, baristas and new folks. Mia Mia in the evening is very different, it turns into a bar and has really fun vibes. Unlike the spots you see in central Tokyo, this place encourages you to connect with other customers, which is amazing and we need more spots like Mia Mia.

The service is top notch and the environment of the neighborhood (and this shop) is the main selling point for me. I think the layout and the menu are slightly chaotic, and I wish the beans they sold were a little more affordable and listed the roasting date instead of "best by" date, but otherwise the small snack and coffee I had were both solid. I guess sandwiches and other things come around lunch time, but I was there early. Extra thanks for proving parking space for my bike 🏍️

Third wave is the best wave. Learn more by chatting with the gregarious Australian owner of this charming cafe who was also a coffee writer for years. He is connected to coffee culture in tokyo in a deep way and has a line of coffee-themed handkerchiefs and other items. They are available in the cafe and the full line is available online. Such a friendly crew at MIA MIA. No AC but I didn’t even notice so come sit and enjoy.
