Today on January 21st, 2024 I went there for the first and probably the last time in my life. Lunch buffet is all you can eat some (Nepalese, Chinese or Tibetan) mixed flavoured garlic sesame chicken probably prepared by some chef from Nepal. And few other south and North Indian dishes. Salad was just chopped cabbage seemed like it’s for cattle 🐄 not human beings.
Halwa was too tight annd cold and flavoured with lots and lots of rose water I don’t understand why?! Worst Halwa I ever tried in my life. Pani puri was tasteless and water was horrible. Boiled chickpeas were stale and mashed. Onion Nan in buffet were cold, too thick and chewy. Literally white flour you can stretch. Super unhealthy and no taste other than flour. Maybe because they were sitting there for long time or the cook in kitchen doesn’t know how to make a nice crisp naan. In Biryani I could smell previous day biryani was mixed or some old vegetables or meat was mixed. They tried to cover the smell with lots and lots of whole spices like bay leaves, cinnamon sticks again broken in small pieces which was annoying to enjoy biryani rice without eating small pieces of cinnamon sticks. Horrible experience. Chicken Patiala was good but again need some improvements.
No flat or healthy, fresh and hot Indian breads were available even if you order Al a carte during lunchtime. I’m shocked to see the ratings of this place.
Good for people those who have no idea about authentic Indian food. And think Indian cuisine is all Nan and curry. Only God Nirvanam knows how long will it...
Read moreIf you're in Tokyo and craving Indian food... Don't think twice, just go! After a visit to the Tokyo Tower in the evening, we decided we'd stop at this place for dinner. It's about a 10 min walk from Tokyo Tower.
The atmosphere even felt like I was back home. Generally I've noticed that restaurants in Japan are quite quiet...but not this place. People were talking, laughing and enjoying their food (a very Indian thing), and mind you the majority of people here were Japanese and not Indian!
We wanted to pig out on food, however, the quantity and portions are quite large and our quest to eat almost every other thing was cut short literally after the appetizers! The food is pretty much the best Indian food I've come across in Tokyo and their Dosa is almost as good as the real deal back home!
The staff are extremely friendly, and we were the last to leave for the night, and the manager chatted us up. He even helped us with the menu, (given we didn't realize how large the portion sizes would be) and were ordering more than we could eat.
I feel it's a must go if you're an Indian craving home food, or a foreigner wanting to try some Indian food! They also have an all you can eat buffet in...
Read moreI am a regular visitor of center kita branch of Yokohama and like it a lot. Staff behaviour and taste of food is good there. But this branch of nirvanam is horrible. Staff is extremely rude and unhygienic. Taste of food is horrible. We went there on july 31st and idly was awful, chutney was stale. We are vegetarians and they did not agree to prepare veg biryani for us (they do it in Yokohama branch). Butter nan was prepared long time back and they dint offer is fresh hot ones but made us eat the ones prepared long time back. Carrot halwa was full of added colours which would not go even after washing hands. Overall a very bad experience at this branch. They started removing the food at 2.25pm when we were still there.
No wonder there were hardly any people in this restaurant and we were the only Indians on a...
