Old Thailand Shinbashi — Restaurant in Tokyo

I went for lunch on a weekeday. They have taken many corona prevention measures. The server was helpful and efficient. They offer large glasses of tea, I appreciate the large size. I ordered the gapao lunch set. It came with soup, which was very sour, but savory, a nice raw spring roll, mostly filled with cabbage which gave it a nice texture, and gapoa with rice. The gapao was really nice, pretty spicey, I needed more rice to tame the heat, which was also nicely prepared. I also ordered garlic softshell crab. It was good, nice crunch, good flavor....

Came here for dinner on a Sunday night, reservations are highly recommended as it can be popular. You'll get a 2 hour window which is ample for a dinner date which was nice. Food is exquisite, also for Japan standards the portions are big so I would recommend against over ordering. Service is also quick however the inside as expected in Tokyo is cramped and the tables are quite small. Table size was my only gripe other than that it was...

I know food from them is great, but they don't understand Japanese or English on the phone at all. So I couldn't make a reservation for a table and told me "no reservations on weekends" at the end of the call even though they asked for preferred time and date for the reservation at the beginning of the call. They should understand numbers and time in Japanese at least for calls...
