I've been to 3 branches so far (Akihabara, Shibuya and now Shinbashi) and they are very consistent in terms of food quality. Surprisingly / distressingly the same can be said about ambiance.

First off, the food here is good low brow spaghetti, as basic as it can be with complimentary size upgrades and then paid upgrades for the massive upgrades. Pricing is absolutely in line with what you get, in fact probably lower than what you might expect.

Ambiance however is straight up scary. In this, as in the other 2 locations I've been to, the building housing the restaurant looked to be on its last legs, you trek down rickety stairs that are so narrow that passing somebody is a feat in gymnastics. Inside the shop itself is so cramped that you get to know the people sitting one table over very well. In earthquake country, you are very much gambling that this heavenly pasta will be consumed allowing you to climb up from the scary, dank basement before the next...

Honestly some of the better Japanese style spaghetti I've had. It's not overly sweet like Saizeriya. The spaghetti noodles are really thick and hold the sauce quite well.

The restaurant is comfortably small. It's just big enough to where I don't feel like I am sitting on top of the person next to me. I went at peak dinner time, Friday night around 5:30-6:00pm. There was a small wait, less than 5 minutes.

They do provide English menus, however it is not a full menu. Ordering is done via ticket machine at the entrance. The kind server took my ticket confirmed what I ordered, and placed me at a seat.

Food took less than 10 minutes to arrive. I ordered their signature spaghetti with meat sauce, and added cheese Large portion. It absolutely filled me up. I would probably order a medium next time.

The entrance can be difficult to find It's in the basement, and the sign is...

leaving this comment because i can get a free soda. so the soda cost 300yen. now i get it for free. the waitress was a bit pushy on this promotion. i had to leave the comment first. but i told her after the meal. shes ok with it. nonetheless the food is good. the beef came in slices with a deep fried crust and a a bit raw inside. then you grill it yourself on the stone grill. the meat is actually good. taste soft with a crispy crust. definitely a good idea. comes with 4 dippings. all light in taste. but forgo the dipping or sauces. taste the beef itself. i found the best way is to wrap it with the veggie it came with, no sauce. the beef itself taste the best but i would like it to be more beefy...

A good restaurant alternative, especially if you want to try the Japanese take on spaghetti. If you're a pasta purist, you probably won't like it, but for me, the Napolitan (ナポリタン) was actually quite good. My friend ordered the White Napolitan (白ナポ) and as expected, it tasted milder without the red sauce, though I still could see some people would like it. They also have a good bang for the buck! The restaurant is a small place in a basement, which can be quite cramped. If I count correctly, there are probably only 15 seats (with some over the counter). Please note that at the time of my visit, the restaurant still operates on cash-only ticket machine for order and payment.

This is a great restaurant with many chains spread throughout Tokyo. Coming anytime after 6pm will result in having to line up. Meals start from 1500 yen, but that is honestly enough. The cheapest meal comes with 130g of gyu katsu. You can cook the pieces as long or short as you like. The meal comes with a portion of salad, miso soup, sauces, and rice (which can be refilled for free by asking). Eating here is a great experience and something I would recommend to anyone who is visiting Tokyo.
