While I'm not sure just how Hawaiian the food is at this 'Hawaiian vegan' restaurant, the atmosphere and food selection both impress and keep loyal customers coming back for years. The husband-wife team who run it are delightful and keep updating their expansive and eclectic menu at quite a pace. Lunch offers a great value plate with fresh veg offerings and soy meat, while dinner ranges from ramen to locomoco to 'chicken' burgers. The drinks selection is also impressive with Hawaiian organic beers, cocktails both alcoholic and non-, and various teas and coffees. Desserts such as soy ice cream will ensure you never leave on anything less than a full stomach.
The place is dog-friendly so expect to see locals bringing their canine friends to tuck in to the vegan doggy biscuits and even doggy veggie burger. Those with allergies be warned.

Don’t be put off that it’s a little way out of the centre - the food and the care the owners put in make up...

I hope the manage to survive in those tough times, they...
