THIS PLACE IS A COMPLETE SCAM. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY.
was pushed into ordering the “omakase menu” which was a drink, apps, pizza, pasta, and dessert
two glasses of cheap champagne
stale bread and appetizer plate to start. It came out so quickly, there’s no way it was made to order. Everything on it tasted like it’d been sitting out for who knows how long.
the “famous” Pizza Don Salvo looked pretty - only upon first bite to be underwhelming, under-seasoned, limp, and again did not taste fresh.
the joke of a seafood pasta - every single piece of seafood over cooked or obviously previously frozen. I gave up after trying multiple shellfish full of sand and grit, and a mouthful of undercooked pasta. Over-salted, yet no actual flavor to speak of or enjoy. We are in Tokyo, literally surrounded by some of the best seafood in the world. There is no excuse.
we watched as a cook in the open kitchen sneezed into his hand and continue to scoop ice cream and put together a dessert - needless to say, we we skipped the dessert to save ourselves the disappointment and the unsanitary offering.
not ONCE were our water glasses filled or any option offered, until I finally gave up and asked, nearly 30min into the meal, when I desperately needed to rinse the sand from their clams out of my mouth.
This restaurant has the audacity to charge over 13000 yen for this sad excuse for a meal. Service was terrible, not a single ask of how our food was or if there was anything we needed. They pointedly avoided my gaze when they could clearly see we were not enjoying something so they wouldn’t have to address their terrible food to a customer’s face.
Rather than get into it with someone at the restaurant over the experience, we chose to just pay and leave rather than have to deal with any more unpleasantness in our evening. We were angry enough.
I don’t know what happened to this place, or why the reviews I read that brought me here were positive - but I left angry and wanting my wasted money and time back. Spare yourself the same and...

-Starting from the vibe: we haven’t been able to go back home for 2 years, and it literally felt like home. Peppe welcomed us so warmly and there were Italians everywhere, from the staff to the customers. First big hint it’s a legit Italian place!
-The food: Ahhh so good. The antipasto was so rich of flavours that brought us back to our hometown. So much goodness in one plate. The mozzarella, the burrata and tomatoes were so fresh that if we closed our eyes we could just pretend we were back in Campania. The pizza was amazing. We got the Don Salvo (their special star-shaped one). The dough was SO soft, the ricotta was SO fresh and so was the mozzarella and tomato sauce. The touch of spicy salame was very nice! We also had their paccheri allo scoglio (crazy good. Perfectly al dente, flavourful sauce and tasty fish), and some salsiccia and fries. Finally, they let us taste tiramisu and caprese, which we loved.
We also enjoyed a nice conversation with Peppe and spent a wonderful afternoon!
We’re definitely taking everyone we know here! I finally have a place to recommend to all Japanese and foreigners asking me what the best Italian...

Not surprising that pizzeria da Peppe ranks very high in the top pizzas in Asia.
We had the ham and buffalo, it was very nice, the mozzarella was delicious. the octopus salad was lovely, the portion was generous. (The bread served was not nice. A pity, was not fresh). Then the pizzas arrived and they were absolutely delicious. We had one Marguerite’s and one Calabrian. The dough was fluffy and livht. The toppings were great quality and the whole taste was amazing. We even had to order a second serving!! We were in Naples 6 months ago and seriously it tasted like the one you get there. Congratulations to pizzeria de Peppe.
Don’t forget to have the tiramisu, a real home made one and it’s delicious, I wished the portion would have been bigger!
Don’t hesitate, go and...
