This place is a great opportunity for anyone to try a Michelin Star restaurant at affordable prices! The lunch deal of pizza and drink for 1,400 Yen is amazing value and the pizza genuinely reminded me of the local pizzas I've had in Italy. I understand that the pizza flour is imported from Italy so this may explain it.
I'd recommend you arrive at least 15 -20 minutes before opening time (11:30am) on a weekday. You will need to write your name down and the number of people in your group on a clipboard that is placed outside the door next to the menu (you can use Google lens to translate the form) to ensure your place in the queue - we did this and given our name was 2nd on the list we were able to get a seat immediately on opening. Do note they call out reservations first before the walk-in queue sheet so you can reserve in advance but when we tried the night before, reservations were full for the next 2 weeks, so if this is a spontaneous decision just turn up a bit earlier than opening time (advice above) and...
Read moreI have been wanting to try pizza in Japan for a very long time since I've heard Tokyo is home to some of the best pizza places in the world.
I finally got my chance this trip. We picked one of the Michelin rated spots in the Tokyo area to try and it did not disappoint.
Surprisingly there was no wait for lunch time and the prices are very reasonable. They offer a lunch menu which I think just comes with a free drink and any pizza of your choice. I think the pizza prices are the same as the dinner prices.
The pizza here is Neopolitan style with the perfect chewy soft crust and has the signature leopard spots on the bottom. Pizza cooks super fast in 1-2 minutes and has a very thing crust.
We tried the famous Margarita which for me is the standard pizza I use to compare all pizza places. For our 2nd pizza, we chose something from the specialty menu which was double the price but totally worth it. Since it was mushroom season, we order the specialty Shitake Mushroom...
Read moreOhmigod. I had the tonno pizza (flaky tuna and eggplant on a red sauce pizza. I normally order a traditional Margarita but when I saw the offerings of an authentic toppings that I last had in Milan ( and the waiter recommended it), that was all I needed to go for it. And I didn’t regret it. I started with the rocket (arugula) and tomato salad. The tomatoes were perfectly ripe and juicy. The pizza came soon after. The favor of flaky tuna and light eggplant on top of mozzarella cheese and marinara sauce took me to Italy! What elevates this pizza to sublime loveliness is the unconventional dough. It’s not over kneaded to render the crust excessively chewy. So the toppings is not competing with the dough. Instead the crust allows for a balanced, favorful pizza that complements the toppings. It’s amazingly good. Sit at the table nearest to the chef if you enjoy watching all of...
