After flying for over 14 hours and checking in, I was trying to get the most convenient food that tasted good and was not too heavy because I was heading to bed immediately. So, I decided to try out the hotel restaurant; duh.

Nevertheless, it was just what I needed, along with a view overlooking the city at night. I should have ordered a salad and a light appetizer, but I went with the Spaghetti with meat sauce and freshly shaved cheese, the Il Cielo special, which was so good. I could not eat all of it; I ate just enough to signal to my stomach that I had something good. The meat sauce was so nice and creamy, with pasta cooked just right and a nice glass of red wine. This dish, atmosphere, and attentive staff helped make this end a perfect day for me; okay, long but perfect. However, I want to try so many more things on the menu while here. Nice hotel restaurant with luxurious feel. We had breakfast here twice when we stayed at Hotel Metropolitan, included in the room. The spread is decent, small batches are prepared and regularly topped up so most things tasted fresh. The Japanese food on offer was of good quality and tasty. But the breads & pastries & other ‘western’ options were only so-so. There was a coffee machine & you can take away coffee which was nice. The staff is generally friendly & attentive.
